The Commission renews the broadcasting licences for the radio programming undertakings set out in Appendix 1 to this decision from 1 September 2020 to 28 February 2021, subject to the terms and conditions in effect under the current licences. 2. In addition, the Commission renews the broadcasting licences for the radio programming undertakings set out in Appendix 2 to this decision from 1 September 2020 to 31 August 2021, subject to the terms and conditions in effect under the current licences. 3. This decision does not dispose of any issues that may arise with respect to the renewal of these licences. The approval is subject to three conditions of approval, set out in Appendix 4 to this decision, which relate to the proposed tangible benefits package. Introduction 1. The Commission received an application by Astral Media Radio Inc. (Astral), initially filed on its own behalf, and on behalf of a general partnership consisting of two of its wholly-owned subsidiaries, to acquire the assets of the radio and television programming undertakings across Canada owned by Standard Radio Inc. (Standard). A list of the undertakings to be acquired is set out in Appendix 1 to this decision. Astral also applied for licences to continue the operation of these undertakings under the same terms and conditions as those set out in the current licences. 2. In a letter to the Commission dated 17 August 2007, Astral clarified that the assets of Standard would be acquired by a general partnership consisting of Astral Media Radio (Toronto) Inc. and 4382072 Canada Inc., both wholly-owned subsidiaries of Astral, carrying on business as Astral Media Radio G.P.

    Sheigra DXpedition Report 12 th to 25 th October 2019 - with Dave Kenny & Alan Pennington This was the 58th DXpedition to Sheigra in Sutherland on the far north western tip of the Scottish mainland, just south of Cape Wrath. DXers made the first long drive up here in 1979, so this we guess, was the 40 th anniversary? And the DXers who first made the trip to Sheigra in 1979 to listen to MW would probably notice little change here today: the single-track road ending in the same cluster of cottages, the cemetery besides the track towards the sea and, beyond that, the machair in front of Sheigra’s sandy bay. And surrounding Sheigra, the wild windswept hillsides, lochans and rocky cliffs pounded by the Atlantic. On 11 October 2004, the Commission received a written complaint concerning a segment of programming broadcast on 27 September 2004 by CFAX, an AM radio station in Victoria, British Columbia. On 3 September 2004, the Commission approved, subject to conditions precedent, an application by CHUM Limited (CHUM) to acquire from Seacoast Communications Group Inc. (Seacoast) the assets of CFAX and CHBE-FM Victoria, and for broadcasting licences to continue the operation of the stations.1 The conditions precedent were satisfied on 29 September 2004. Seacoast was therefore still the licensee of CFAX at the time of the broadcast in question.
