Designed by Leandro V. Locsin Partners in collaboration with Ayala Land and the Zobel family, the memorial’s portal and water elements represent the union of Colonel Joseph McMicking and Mrs. Mercedes Zobel McMicking. Colonel McMicking was widely recognized as the visionary of Makati’s urban development while Mrs. McMicking was the quiet force behind the growth of Ayala in the 20th century.
