VIDEO INSIGHTS NEW TECHNOLOGY 3 THE POETICS OF APPLIANCES

Design was a major component of the latest challenge taken up by leading appliance manufacturers who displayed their new ideas at Eurocucina last April, in the FTK–Technology for the Kitchen section. On show were a wide range of ultra-efficient products, big on formal content, often designed around general furnishing trends to give appliances aesthetic (as well as technical and functional) appeal. Customisation is a key concept. With the choice of materials, textures and colours that attract the ever-growing groups of consumers and bring a certain “poetry” to the kitchens technical elements. One of the most iconic examples of the trend must surely be the new Dolce Stil Novo collection of hobs from (pictured), which replaces the traditional pan stands with a series of metal elements inspired by the world of nature.
