March 2020 Diwali Celebrations

The students of IX D tried to impart a strong message on the occasion of Diwali by presenting a skit to sensitise the students and make them realize the tortures faced by the factory workers to make fire crackers. The need and concept of a ‘Dark Diwali’ changing to a ‘Green and Eco-friendly Diwali’ was beautifully highlighted by the students explaining the necessity to use natural rangoli colours instead of artificial colours. Lighting of diyas in- stead of electrical lighting was also encouraged. Everyone left the assembly ground pondering how they could contribute to an Eco friendly Diwali celebration.

KG Dance The children of KG class performed a Diwali Dance on 16 October 2019. The little performers looked vibrant in their colourful attire and energized everyone with their lively performance. Synergy

The Srijan School, hosted an inter-school event, Synergy, from 19th to 22nd November 2019. The first day was dedicated to UDAAN a non-competitive event that provides a platform to Children with Special Needs to showcase their special abilities. On the second day, a STREET THEATRE FESTIVAL took place. It was again a non-competitive canvass for students to explore and portray contemporary issue of social relevance vivid dramatization. At the end, Atelier, a renowned theatre group, performed a thoughtful act. On the third day, the school hosted ABHIVYAKTI, language festival. It gave the students a platform to learn the nuances of language, and exhibit their creative prowess and oratory skills through use of four different languages. The last day was dedicated to COMMERCE PENTATHLON. It was a forum for students to exhibit their business acumen in an environment fuelled by innovation and enthusiasm. Many reputed schools from the city participated in the plethora of events that were organized. More than two hundred participants took part each day. A bright and colorful Annual day was celebrated by students of class I and II in the school auditorium on 21 December 2019 with lots of pomp and splendor. The event started with choir, a beautiful song was sung by students of class I and II. An English play, ‘Gruffallo’ was staged. The students also performed a mime act on the theme ’Save Trees’. In the end, students gave a wonderful performance in Hindi play titled ‘Baal Diwas.’ Christmas Celebrations

The Srijanites celebrated the joyous occasion of Christmas on 23rd December 2019 with ardent enthusiasm. Melodious carols by the school choir reverberated throughout the premises. The children of class VI explored deeper into the real meaning of Christmas through an enactment. The students carried home the message of sharing and caring, as well as the need of being kind and generous.

Guru Purab and Guru Ka Langar

The birth anniversary of the first Sikh Guru was celebrated with a special assembly which sought to remind each individual the basic message which Nanakji tried to teach throughout his life- namely ’Naamjapo, Kiratkaro and vaand chakho’. The same was conveyed through beautiful skit presented by the students of class VI-D. It concluded with the junior and senior choir singing shabads in praise of the Almighty. The whole atmosphere became serene as the students devotedly delivered these shabads. As a mark of respect even the teachers covered their heads, in remembrance of the teachings of this great Sikh guru. Republic Day Celebrations

The Srijan School celebrated 71st Republic day with great enthusiasm in the school. A special assembly was conducted on 24th January 2020 to commemorate the day when our Constitution came into effect. The assembly started with the performance by the school PT band where the students showed their skills by performing various drills. On the tune of the National Anthem, our national flag was hoisted by the Principal, the Junior Head and the school Sports Captain. The school choir sang regional songs to show unity in diversity followed by information sharing by the General Secretary and class IV Narmada students. The assembly culminated with speech delivered by Ms. Monica Kumar who addressed the students and presented her views about Republic . Food Festival

The Srijan School celebrated its annual Food Festival , wherein students, parents and teachers came forward to celebrate the spirit of Republic Day. The school was adorned in Tricolours. The event started with a dance performance by the talented students followed by an amazing performance by the parents. Parents had chosen a dish according to their expertise and had put up stalls serving relishing Indian dishes, from chhole bhature, pao bhaji, dosa, idli to brownie and mocktails, gol gappe, dhokla, dabeli etc.

Art is a very strong medium of expression, students exhibited their ideas creatively and freely, letting their imagination fly on paper. Class II-V enthusiastically participated in an art activity ‘Taare Zameen Par’. It was held on 1 February, 2020. The school students showcased their talent and creativity through painting on plain canvas.

Model United Nation( MUN)

The Srijan School had its first edition of The Srijan School Model United Nations Conference 2019 with over 200 delegates from various schools of the city .The students were brought together through this platform on 16-17 November 2019. The students focussed on achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and brainstormed solutions to bring positive change in their communities for over two days. The opening ceremony commenced in the presence of revered Chief Guest Mr Burenbayar Chanrav, Minister Counsellor in the Embassy of Mongolia and Guest of Honour Prof. Nirmala Joshi, Director of India-Central Asia Foundation, New Delhi. In the closing ceremony all the winners of TSSMUN 2019, were conferred by the Chief Guest Advocate Monika Arora (Supreme Court) and the Principal, Mr Vincent Ashish Moses. Growing up class V Growing up session was held on October 16,2019 separately for boys and girls. The sessions started with a mix of icebreaker, group activities and PowerPoint presentations to build a climate for open sharing and initiate a discussion around various aspects of growing up. The aim was to equip and prepare the children for puberty changes. Farewell 2020 Class XII

The students of class XI of the school gathered to bid farewell to the outgoing class XII batch. The day was a fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and teachers to reminisce joyous moments. The students of class XI presented interesting skits, group dance and solo singing performances which entertained the audience to the fullest. The performances were thoroughly enjoyed by one and all. Many interesting and fun-filled games were played to pep up the environment. Different titles were awarded to class XII students. The event was a great success, filled with nostalgia , fun and excitement!

Public speaking event was organized for Class IV and V to help in enhancing effective communication among students. The students spoke on various topics which boosted their confidence and developed their speaking skills.

Workshop on Oral Hygiene

A dentist’s expert guidance can help children to understand how to maintain better oral hygiene. Keeping this in mind, Dr. Amanpreet was invited on 10 November 2019 for an interactive session with class IV students. Trips and Outings (Junior school) Outdoor educational trips are an integral part of the school life at The Srijan School. The students feel encouraged to explore and engage themselves in stimulating outdoor activities that foster an environment of learning and help them develop an appreciation of the natural world.

Visit to National Museum by class I and II The student of Class I and II went for a day trip to Muddy Boots Adventure Camp. They were engaged in many adventure sports activities like rock climbing, rappelling, camp games etc. They also enjoyed other fun activities like pottery making and tonga ride. The students of class 4 went on a trip to Jim Corbett, Uttarakhand from November 20 to November 23. They went for Jeep Safari in The Jim Corbett National Park. They also visited the Garija temple and nearby Kosi river. The students were engaged in many team building activities and adventure sports like rock climbing, rappelling, camp games etc. On the final day, the students were rewarded with fabulous prizes based on their performances in varied activities

Students of class 5 stayed at Mahaseer Fishing Camp, Uttarakhand from November 20 to November 23. In the three day- two night camp, they were engaged in some of the most exciting outdoor activities. The students participated with loads of zeal and enthusiasm and displayed tremendous confidence, will power and vigour.

Sports Day Nursery and KG

Sports Day was organized for the students of Nursery and KG on the wonderful spring morning of 13th, February. 2020. The highlights of the programme were yoga, gymnastics, pom– pom drill, zumba dance and many interesting races. The colourful props added colour and charm to the show. The children were very enthusiastic and participated with great confidence and vigour. The parents were mesmerized to see their little ones put their best foot forward.
