Young Sheedi Welfare Organization (YSWO); as a silver-lining, of hope for betterment, socio- economic change and human development, emerged on August 7 th, 1987 under the unflinching, dedicated leadership and patronage of Mr. Faiz Mohammad Bilali. The organization was under same name was registered in 1989 with social welfare department Government of Sindh, under social voluntary organizations act 1961. YSWO has always endeavoured to provide relief service in case of emergency. The organization believes in providing relief services irrespective of cast, colour, and religion. YSWO is working on emergency since 1994 with different International Donors working in Badin. is situated between latitude 24o 13’ to 25o 12’ North and longitude 68o 21’ to 69o 20’ East. The district is bounded in the north by Hyderabad, in the east by Mirpurkhas and Tharparkar districts, in the south by the Arabian Sea and Rann of Kutch, which also forms the international boundary with , and in the west it borders and Hyderabad districts. The total area of the district is 6,527 square kilometres and the district consists of five talukas, namely: Badin, , , Golarchi and . With the introduction of the Devolution System, the talukas have been sub-divided into 46 union councils, 109 tapas and 511 dehs. Badin has a mild climate. Rainfall is highly erratic and unpredictable with an average rainfall of 258.8 mm. Emergency Rapid Need Assessment is conducted by Young Sheedi Welfare Organization Badin Team on 29 July, 2015.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS/OBSE RVATIONS

A total of 16 relief camps are established so far in affected district of Badin; 07 Camps in Badin city, 03 in TandoBago, 03 in Golarchi, and 03 in Talhar. According to reports, over 50 villages have been inundated across Badin, mainly rural side of Badin. And more than 3500 peoples are transferred to relief camps. There are reports of widespread collapsed houses both in rain affected urban and rural areas. The population from most of the affected village was evacuated to safe places still there are people who are trapped in the waters. Flood relief camps are established for affected and displaced population by district administration. The camps have started reporting though compliance varies due to infrastructure damage and subsequent HR and communication problems. Major public health concerns include:  Increase in ARI, Diarrhea, and Skin Diseases in affected population  Damage to roads and infrastructures thus compromising access to information and health services.  Shortage of essentially required medicines due to substantial magnitude of problem.  Damage to crops and stored grains thus resulting acute shortage of food both for human and livestock.  Accidents & Injuries  Shortage of Anti-Snake Venom & Anti-Rabies Vaccines  Interruption in routine vaccination activities
