Welcome to our opponents Highworth Town who have made the long 200 mile trip from Wiltshire for The FA Vase Quarter Final replay. After last weekend’s game, we are all very aware of the quality of Highworth’s side. The club are currently 8th in the Hellenic Football League Premier Division and have a very strong spine to their team and have some outstanding players from back to front. We know we’ll have our work cut out today to make it through to the Semi Final, but there is no greater incentive than Wembley to ensure we give it absolutely everything.

Last Saturday’s game was one of the greatest days in TAFC history. We know we keep making these statements a lot at the moment, but it really was a day that we’ll never forget. The players showed fantastic character to come from a goal down, and we were delighted with every single one of them. The fans who travelled with us were superb (as always) and the live feed for the ones that didn’t was a huge success. The chance to repeat the occasion at the i2i Stadium is very exciting, and we only hope we can give everyone from Highworth the same wonderful welcome that they gave us last Saturday.

It’s incredible to think that we’re now just three games away from a trip to Wembley. It would certainly be the club’s greatest achievement, and it would be amazing for the whole town – not just the club. As the last remaining club in the competition, we’ll be doing all we can to emulate past winners Whitby Town (1997) and Bridlington Town (1993). If today’s result goes our way, we’ve got a two legged semi final against North Shields with the home game taking place on Saturday 21st March and the away leg taking place on Saturday 28th March.

After such a brilliant weekend, the 2-1 defeat to Thackley was disappointing. Under normal circumstances we would have postponed the Tuesday night game, but the gaffer was keen to play it, so that Paddy Miller’s suspension would be over in time for today. The players have however had a few days to rest and reflect on the game, and we know that they will be SMOCK TOP raring to go and hungry for victory today.
