Olivier Hähnel Musicien Autodidacte, Olivier Olivier Hähnel Musicien autodidacte, Olivier commence la musique en 1995 aux côtés de Mathieu Jallut et Jacques Viredaz (qui deviendront plus tard Abraham), il écume donc les locaux lausannois dès l’adolescence et voit son goût pour la musique grandir année après année. Avant tout chanteur dans des groupes de metal tel qu’Angmar ou Kelvin is Dead, il commence l’aventure Abraham en 2008 sous le pseudonyme de Renzo Tornado Especial. Signant avec le label international Pelagic Records en 2011, Abraham produira 3 albums et un EP entre 2011 et 2018 et parcourra les salles européennes pour plus de 120 concerts. En parallèle de la composition du deuxième album, Olivier s’intéresse de plus en plus aux synthétiseurs analogiques et commence à en faire collection. Il intègre d’ailleurs un grand nombre de synthétiseurs sur cet album. A partir de là, il prend la double casquette de chanteur/claviériste et ne la quittera plus. En 2014, il se voit contacter par le groupe allemand de drone Twinesuns pour participer en tant que guest à l’enregistrement des synthétiseurs sur leur album The Leaving (Hummus Records). En 2015 il est invité à faire partie intégrante de la formation allemande, en résulte 1 Ep (A Blackened Planet) et 1 album (The Empire Never Ended) disponibles chez Pelagic Records. De son côté, Olivier s’intéresse énormément à la musique expérimentale et crée d’innombrables démos dans son home studio. En 2018, après avoir déménagé à Conthey, Olivier prend contact avec Didier Séverin pour mettre en place un projet de drone électronique. Ils montent donc ensemble le Power Drone Central studio et crée le groupe strom|morts auquel ils invitent Mathieu Jallut à participer. Mathieu Jallut Mathieu Jallut a commencé son parcours de musicien dès l’âge de 8 ans, où il commence à prendre des cours de guitare. Très rapidement passionné par cet instrument, il fonde à l’âge de 12 ans le groupe Angmar avec notamment Olivier Haehnel et Jacques Viredaz (qui feront plus tard partie d’Abraham). Le groupe effectue un certain nombre de concerts puis la formation change de nom et devient Kelvin is Dead. Mathieu Jallut a sorti un EP avec ce groupe et continua à participer à divers projets locaux. C’est en 2008 que Mathieu Jallut rejoint les rangs d’Abraham, sous le pseudonyme de Mat Axwieder. En 2011, le groupe signe sous le label international Pelagic Records et sort trois albums et un EP entre 2011 et 2018. Le groupe a également effectué plus de 120 concerts et 4 tournées européenes, dont deux en première partie de groupes référence du style : Cult Of Luna et The Ocean Collective. En parallèle, Mathieu Jallut est engagé en 2012 comme guitariste live pour le groupe Lune Palmer, un groupe de Indie-Rock lausannois. Avec cette formation, il a effectué plusieurs premières parties de taille (Franz Ferdinand, Kadebostany) et participé à des festivals majeurs en Suisse romande. En 2015 il enregistre également un EP avec un side project d’un membre des illustres Vodoo Cake, du nom de Moon Rider. Passionné par la musique sous presque toutes ses formes, Mathieu Jallut s’intéresse également à la musique électronique, aux synthétiseurs et au drone depuis longtemps. Il apprend à faire coexister sa guitare avec des synthétiseurs au sein d’Abraham, mais également de Lune Palmer. De ces expériences est né un goût très prononcé pour le mélange de sons et d’atmosphères, la guitare étant parfois utilisée comme une texture supplémentaire permettant de donner du relief au travail effectué et les synthétiseurs. Didier Séverin Après avoir commencé la pratique musicale dans des fanfares municipales, son envie musicale s’accentue après le retour d’un séjour linguistique aux USA à 17 ans. Premier groupe techno industriel avec TVO à la fin des années 80, ils explorent la musique assistée par ordinateur avec un vénérable Atari, un sampleur et une boîte à rythmes. Premiers concerts sous le nom de Dissect et premières collaborations au sein du collectif MXP (autres membres notoires: Plastique de rêve et POL) au début des années 90. L’aventure Knut commencera en 1994 avec un premier 45 tours et les premiers concerts. Elle durera 18 ans: 5 albums, des 45 tours et EP et quelques 300 concerts en Suisse, Europe, Angleterre, USA et Russie. Knut aura plusieurs labels dont Conspiracy records en Belgique et Hydra Head aux USA. Des albums considérés comme références incontournables du metal/hardcore avec des tendances math- rock (Leftovers, Bastardiser, Challenger) seront réédités plusieurs fois en CDs et vinyles. Avec Roderic Mounir, le batteur et autre membre fondateur, il mènera l’entier de l’aventure Knut qui s’achèvera en 2012 après l’enregistrement d’une reprise de Godflesh, accompagnés par Franz Treichler (THe Young Gods). Après une grosse année de break avec la composition musicale, l’envie revient rapidement et un studio de musique électronique va se monter petit à petit dans la cuisine d’un petit appartement genevois. La découverte du synthé modulaire achèvera d’envahir cet espace réduit. Didier ressuscite le projet Llama qui avait donné quelques concerts de noise dans les années 90 pendant des accalmies de l’épopée Knut. Il produit 2 démos en 2013 et 2015, qu’il distribue de manière confidentielle en CD-R uniquement. Un morceau instrumental de rap électronique et minimaliste sera repris par Pauvre Coude et Jean Vance et sera édité en 2016 (https://kakakidsrecords.bandcamp.com/track/air-du-temps-feat-jean-vance). Après 3 concerts de drone/noise lors de vernissages d’Elvis Studio (galerie Hard Hat 22.05.2014), Xavier Robel (espace R.O.D. 12.05.2017), Helge Reumann (vernissage du livre Black Medicine Book 27.5.2017) et un déménagement en Valais, Didier Séverin rencontre Loïc Grobéty aux Caves du Manoir en décembre 2017 et le projet Llama/OLO se met en place et donnera ses premiers concerts en juin 2018. Moins d’une année après sa création, Llama/OLO a déjà fait une tournée en Europe ainsi qu’en Asie et a sorti une première cassette. Le duo s’apprête à faire une résidence cet été aux Caves du Manoir et deux tournées cet automne (Europe et Russie) Parallèlement, Didier et Christian Valleise, guitariste de la dernière incarnation de Knut, forment un duo de noise informel et épisodique depuis 2014 (https:// ignantnoise.bandcamp.com), un projet d’album est actuellement en cours avec Llama et le duo lyonnais Le berceau des volontés sauvages (http://altaar- records.fr/ berceau-des-volontes-sauvages/). Life changed for us all a lot between the releases. For myself, firstly I moved into the bush and started to build my life in the wilderness with my wife. We welcomed our son into the world not long after the release of “A forgotten land”. So, much of that time for me was completely disconnected from the music world and my band mates. After things settled, and we established our lives a bit more in our new surroundings and as new parents, it then became a challenge to connect with the band in person as I was living a 10-hour drive away. So, not a lot happened for a long time. A lot has changed since those times too, and we now find our band in a new phase of its existence. I have returned to the home state of the band now, I no longer live in the woods and am much closer to the city so we can rehearse and connect more often.

    DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT – BIOGRAPHY DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT was born in February 2009 in Würzburg, Germany when founding fathers Nikita Kamprad (guitars, bass, songwriting, drum programming) and Tobias Jaschinsky (vocals) released the first self-titled album limited to 200 copies and using a drum machine. Within just one month the self-produced record was sold out and the first reviews and interviews followed quickly. In January 2010 a deal with Berlin based label Viva Hate Records was inked and the band re-released the debut in May – this time featuring real drumtracks recorded by Christian Bass (Heaven Shall Burn, Night In Gales, Deadsoil among others), a new mix and the bonustrack “Ruhe”. Further the band celebrated their first live performance at Friction Fest Berlin among bands like Wolves In The Throne Room, Bohren & Der Club Of Gore, Entombed, Crippled Black Phoenix and Amenra followed by various shows all over Germany. In March 2011 the band entered Hamburg's Hammer Studios with producer Eike Freese (Negator, Dark Age, Deep Purple, Gamma Ray) to record their “Agonie” EP. With its release in July drummer Christian Bass had to leave the band due to timing and private reasons but shortly after a new permanent drummer was found in Tobias Schuler who has already replaced Christian Bass at some shows in 2010. The first big festival appearances at Summer Breeze Open Air, Barther Metal Open Air and Wolfszeit Festival followed as well as the first Austrian shows with friends Neaera. After finishing songwriting for the next record at the end of 2011 the band entered Tonstudio Würzburg in their hometown to record their next full-length.
