You are duly summoned to attend the meeting of Waberthwaite & Corney Parish Council to be held at 7.30pm on Monday 8th March 2021 on Zoom as a virtual meeting. This meeting can be viewed by the general public on https://www.youtube.com/user/keithhit Members of the public wishing to take part in the Public Participation item should contact the clerk before 6th March 2021.

Agenda 1. Register of attendance – The clerk will call the register of members. 2. Apologies: To receive apologies and to note the reasons for absence. 3. Declarations of Interest a. Register of Interests: Councillors are reminded of the need to update their register of interests. b. To declare any personal interests in items on the agenda and their nature. c. To declare any prejudicial interests in items on the agenda and their nature (Councillors with prejudicial interests must leave the room for the relevant items).

4. To consider the exclusion of the public and press in the public interest for consideration of the following items: None

5. Minutes: To consider the approval of the minutes of the virtual meeting of the Council on 8th February 2021.

6. Public Participation: Residents are invited to give their views and question the Parish Council on issues on this agenda or raise issues for future consideration at the discretion of the Chairman. Time allocated 20 minutes. Residents must submit their questions to the clerk before 6th March 2021. The questions will be put to the council by the chairman. If the member of the public wishes to put their own question then details to join the meeting will be made available.

8. Planning Applications To consider planning applications a. Reference: 7/2021/4009 Location: Little Ground, Corney, , LA19 5TW Proposal: Proposed veranda, balcony and pellet/bin store, retrospective patio doors b. Reference: 7/2021/4015 Location: Hall Waberthwaite, Waberthwaite, LA19 5YW Proposal: Barn Conversion to Holiday Let and conversion of a barn to ancillary accommodation to the farmhouse

9. Progress reports for information a. Blocked gulley at Corney b. Defibrillator has a broken hinge, Cllr Southward to look into this c. Hedge by Mr Rigsby is encroaching onto the road d. Can a sign saying “Don’t follow your Sat Nav” be erected at both ends of the fell road? e. Drain on footway up Broad Oak is now 2ft deep and is a health hazed. f. Pot holes at Lane End g. Footway clearing down Alley Hill h. Cleaning up at Lane End after the Iron fence was removed i. Road from Newbiggin to the Viaduct in a bad state of repair j. Parish Plan – On going review

10. Finance a. To consider the statement of accounts – current a/c £150.67 deposit a/c £7,543.83

11. To consider the request for a rubbish bin in the village Please can it be raised at the next PC meeting that there is not a single rubbish bin in the village? Large amounts of comments lately on social media in relation to litter in the area and also there is nowhere for dog walkers to dispose of poo bags. I personally think Waberthwaite needs a bin! For information: This organisation is applying for a license to run this event. 42° is an intimate music and arts festival to be held in the annually at Barras Meadow, with the first festival on 20th-22nd August 2021. Organised by 25 volunteers, it will be a weekend of shared experiences through funk & soul, jazz, disco, hip-hop and house live music and DJ-sets, comedy, spoken word, film, workshops and jamming sessions. 42° core values are supporting local, up-and- coming artists and businesses, promoting sustainability, encouraging diversity and celebrating creativity. Targeting artists and audiences from BAME, LGBTQ+, and local groups, we will develop an exciting community of artists.
