1. Preface

This document describes how to use the Confidential File Viewer downloaded from the Hitachi Solutions site.

1.1 Overview of the Confidential File Viewer

Confidential File Viewer is an application for referencing HIBUN confidential files. A HIBUN confidential file is a file protected by a password. Table 1-1 contains information about Decryptable and Viewable HIBUN Confidential files.

1 How to Use the Confidential File Viewer

1.2 Applicable products

Confidential File Viewer can reference files created with products shown in the table below.

1.3 Execution environment of Viewer

3 How to Use the Confidential File Viewer

2. Executing Viewer

2.1 Installing the program

This section demonstrates how to install the Viewer needed to decrypt or view a HIBUN Confidential file. If the viewer is already installed, you can skip this step.

(1) Download the installer (hbnvinst.exe) corresponding to your OS from our website. (2) Double click the installer to run it. Notice ・For systems where UAC has been enabled in the OS settings, a user account control prompt might appear if you are not logged in as a built-in Administrator. You can start installation after self-elevating.

(3) Click the Next on the installation screen to proceed. (4) Click the Install button to start the installation. A shortcut to open HIBUN Confidential files will appear on the desktop. (5) On the completion screen, click the Finish button to complete the installation.

Notice If double clicking a HIBUN Confidential file does not start the Viewer, file association might not be configured correctly. Take the following steps to recover file association settings. 1. Go to Control Panel (Category view) and select Programs, Default Programs, and then Associate a file type or protocol with a program. 2. Check if the program settings match the settings below. If the entries under Current Default are all set to HIBUN, file association is correctly configured. Otherwise, follow steps 3 and 4 to fix the problem. Name Current Default Description .aea HIBUN .dea HIBUN .dpa HIBUN Appears only under Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 3. Click the Change program... button if the entries under Current Default are not set to HIBUN. 4. Select HIBUN and apply the changes.

Notice The Viewer does not support creating Windows images which use Sysprep's CopyProfile settings. Please install the Viewer for each user after applying the Windows image.

4 How to Use the Confidential File Viewer

2.2 Starting Viewer

This section demonstrates how to start the Viewer. Double click Decryptable HIBUN Confidential files (.aea and .dea files) or Viewable HIBUN Confidential files (.dpa files) in the explorer to start the Viewer. Section 2.3 demonstrates how to decrypt Decryptable HIBUN Confidential files. Section 2.4 demonstrates how to view Viewable HIBUN Confidential files.

2.3 How to decrypt Decryptable HIBUN Confidential files

Follow the steps below to decrypt Decryptable HIBUN Confidential files using the Viewer.

(1) Enter the password and destination folder on the password confirmation screen. (2) Click the OK button. If the password is successfully confirmed, the file will be extracted to the destination folder. Figure 2-1 Decryption screen

• Password Enter the password needed to decrypt the Decryptable HIBUN Confidential file. • Destination folder Specify the folder where the Confidential file should be extracted. The file’s full path should be specified. Decryption cannot be completed if the full path length of files contained in the Confidential file exceeds 255 characters after extraction.

2.4 How to view Viewable HIBUN Confidential files

2.4.1 How to use Viewer

Follow the steps below to view Viewable HIBUN Confidential files using the Viewer.

(1) A will prompt you to enter your password. Enter the password and click the OK button.

(2) The Viewer will be started and the content of the Viewable HIBUN Confidential file can be viewed. (3) Refer to Figure 2-3 and Table 2-1 to operate the Viewer. On-screen operations and functions of the Viewer are demonstrated in section 2.4.2.

2.4.2 Viewer screen details and navigation tips

and Operate Viewer. See the following table for how to operate the Viewer menu and toolbar. ・ Bookmark Button Click this to display a bookmark on the left side of the screen. ・ Thumbnail Button Click this to display thumbnails on the left side of the screen.

・ Vertical Scroll Bar When the file contents cannot be displayed on 1 page, move the vertical scroll bar to scroll.

Spread Show Whole - Fits 1 full page into the display area. Fit Width - Fits the page to the width of the display area. Show Page - Specifies whether to display a boundary between Boundary pages. Zoom in Enlarges the contents displayed by one size.

Zoom out Shrinks the contents displayed by one size.

Page First Page - Displays the first page. Previous - Displays the page before the page currently Page displayed. Next Page - Displays the page after the page currently displayed. Last Page - Displays the last page. Specified - Displays the page specification dialog. Page See "2.4.4 Specify and display a page" for details on the page specification dialog. Help Online Help - Opens the Help web page.

2.4.3 Search by search term

(1) From Tool menu, click Search menu or the Search toolbar to display a search dialog. (2) In the Search dialog, enter a search term and click Search to look through the viewable confidential file.

7 How to Use the Confidential File Viewer

・ Word Unit Specify whether to search for a word unit. Turn ON this check box to search for a word unit. The default setting is ON. Word Unit searches for a word that matches the term entered in the exactly.

2.4.4 Specify and display a page

(1) From Page menu, click Specified Page menu to display a page specification dialog box.

(2) Enter a page number and click the Move button to display the page at the page number entered. If a page at the page number entered does not exist, the top page will be displayed instead.

2.5 Uninstalling the program

(1) Use the following operations to display a list of installed programs.

・ On Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2016, or Windows Server 2019 From the Start menu, choose Control Panel, Programs, and then Programs and Features.

・ On Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012, or Windows Server 2012 R2 On the screen displaying all programs, under Windows System, select Control Panel, Programs, and then Programs and Features.

・ On Windows 10 Right click the Start button and select Programs and Features from the menu.

(2) From the list, select Confidential File Viewer, and click Uninstall. If Confidential File Viewer is not displayed, there is no need to conduct this process.

(3) Delete the following folder.

・ Windows Server
