Stolz II (Stolz) that seeks the designation for hearing of the captioned license renewal applications filed by subsidiaries of Entercom Communications Corp.1 Entercom filed the applications in 2005 and 2013 (2005 Applications and 2013 Applications, respectively) for stations in the Sacramento market. For the reasons set forth below, we affirm the Bureau’s conclusion that Stolz lacks standing and deny the AFR.2 I. BACKGROUND 2. The Media Bureau (Bureau) held that Stolz and his (now deceased) mother, Irene M.     AGENDA ITEM NO. 8.21 CITY OF ELK GROVE CITY COUNCIL STAFF REPORT AGENDA TITLE: Adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to approve a contract amendment with Ross-Campbell, Inc., in the amount of $30,000, increasing the total contract amount to $72,000 and extending the contract termination date to December 31, 2013 MEETING DATE: December 8, 2010 PREPARED BY: Cedar Kehoe, Integrated Waste Manager DEPARTMENT HEAD: Richard Shepard, Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends approval of a contract amendment with Ross-Campbell, Inc., in the amount of $30,000, increasing the total contract amount to $72,000 and extending the contract term date to December 31, 2013. BACKGROUND Ross-Campbell, Inc. is the contracted media relations firm hired as a consultant by the County of Sacramento (County) to represent the Regional Recycling Group (Group), of which Elk Grove is a member. The County was the founding member of the Group and the sole entity involved in the selection process of Ross-Campbell, Inc., hired as the consultant responsible for the planning, preparation and execution of tasks to implement programs on behalf of the Group at large. The Group is a consortium of over thirty (30) cities and counties from Northern California that work together to promote programs to meet AB939 state diversion requirements, composting programs, used oil and filter 1 Elk Grove City Council December 8, 2010 Page 2 of 3 recycling and beverage recycling. The purpose of the Group is to pool monetary resources from all jurisdictions in the County in order to reach a broader audience.

HOW THE PERFORMANCES, SONG LYRICS, AND ACTIVISM OF THE INDIGO GIRLS DEMONSTRATE THE MUTABLE COMPOSITION OF SOUTHERN IDENTITY by ALISON LAW Under the Direction of Gina Caison, Ph.D. ABSTRACT A common misconception about the southern region of the United States is that any one part of the region can stand alone as an accurate representation of the territory as a whole. To refute any notion of a homogeneous South and demonstrate the dynamic nature of an individual or community identity, I examine the history, song lyrics, performances, and activism of the folk-rock duo the Indigo Girls and their hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. This project applies the theories of locational feminism found in Susan Stanford Friedman’s Mappings and New Southern Studies in Tara McPherson’s text Reconstructing Dixie . Analyzing the biographies, song lyrics, performances, and activism of the Indigo Girls as an archive of southern literature allows us to understand the fluid, multiplex nature of regional identity and view Atlanta as one “borderland” in a heterogeneous U.S.

    Dar Williams has always followed her muse. When she was up in Somerville, Massachusetts in the early nineties, knowing that she wanted to pursue music or theater, she worked backstage at the Opera Company of Boston and wrote plays on the side. But she was in Boston, and the muse led her into the myriad open mics and tip jar gigs of booming folk revival. She opened a trunk of old songs and started writing new ones. She went to three or four open mics or song circles a week and recorded two cassettes. Yes, cassettes. When she felt like the noise of Boston was getting to be too much, the muse led her to the cornfields and college towns of Western Massachusetts where she sat on her futon and wrote the songs that would become The Honesty Room, her first CD, which she recorded in the basements and back woods studios of Amherst. She hoped the songs she was writing, with titles like When I Was a Boy, You’re Aging Well, and The Great Unknown, would lead her into an idiosyncratic part-time music career. Little did she know that the coffeehouse scene and the beginnings of internet communities were building to a crescendo and eager to receive her warm, witty songs. By the end of 1994, when The Honesty Room came out, she had rock-solid management, the best booking agency in the country for singer-songwriters, and a career-making slot at the Newport Folk Festival. She also signed with Razor & Tie records and penned the material for her next album, Mortal City.
