Priest Peter Runyon is a newly minted graduate of St Vladimir’s Memories from an Alumnus (Class of 2021). Father Alexander Schmemann left an enormous imprint in the minds of generations of Church leaders, and not only those he taught during his life. He remains a teacher to many. ■ How did studying Fr Alexander Schmemann’s writings affect your theological education? Fr Peter: Studying Schmemann has helped bring the liturgy to life in a depth I wasn’t familiar with before.
