ID COMMENTS: The head, thorax, and legs are white; the antennae are buff below and banded with brown and white above (Munroe, 1972). The abdomen is dark gray with a cream-colored apex. The ground color of the forewings is cream-white. The base is marked with buff, followed by a cream-colored antemedian area that has a convex outer margin. This pale area is followed by an inwardly oblique band of reddish-brown that extends from the cell to the inner margin; from the cell to the costa, a buff- colored band is present. The bar is followed by a faint gray antemedian line, with a similar postmedian line further out. The disco- cellular spot is weak or absent but not strongly defined as it is in adelalis. The postmedian and subterminal areas have the cream colored ground color, shaded with buff. A dark apical spot is present and the fringe is creamy-buff.
