Jharkhand Chief Minsiter Pitches For Tribals Development Chief Minister Raghubar Das has pitched in for development of tribals, saying is a tribal State and it can develop only when tribals are developed. He was speaking at the inaugural session of BJP’s ST Morcha meet at Jaina More in Bokaro on Saturday.

Das said that the State could not be developed by developing cities like Tata, Bokaro, Dhanbad. The real growth will come only when villages are developed. “Development of the State on all fronts is the only agenda of the government. In a bid to prevent migration from villages, our government is focusing to set up small, medium and micro industries. Through the Global Investors Summit, focus has been accorded on setting up of medium, small and rural industries so that unemployment problem can be addressed,” added the CM. “Several national and international investors have showed their interest in the area of agriculture, food processing, textiles, higher education and healthcare,” the CM said. “The State government cannot provide employment to everyone, so Mukhyamantri Udyami Board has been constituted and the government will ensure imparting skill development training to the unemployed youth. There are tremendous growth opportunities in the lac and silk sector in the State,” he added. The CM said that Adim Janjati Vikas Pradhikaran has been constituted for the development of primitive tribes. Das urged the party workers to reach out to the tribals and make them aware of their rights and ensure that they are getting the benefits of all government sponsored schemes. “In the State budget, separate funds were allotted for the development of the Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Scheduled Castes (SC). A total of `22,259 crore was granted for special schemes related to their upliftment,” the CM said. “Apart from agriculture, education and skill development and rural development, the budget also laid emphasis on women empowerment and infrastructure – electricity, roads, communication (including civil aviation and railways),” he said. Pm Modi Unveils 112-Foot Shiva Statue On Mahashivratri Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a 112-foot- tall Shiva statue in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on the eve of Maha Shivratri. Extolling the ancient Indian discipline of Yoga, the Prime Minister called for efforts to protect nature and mould human activities to bring them in sync with ecological surroundings.

Ias Official Lands In Jail For Jobs Scam In Bihar Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) chairman Sudhir Kumar, a 1987-batch IAS officer, was arrested on Friday for alleged involvement in the job scam that had rocked the state earlier this month. He was later taken to Beur Central Jail, on Patna’s outskirts. The bureaucrat’s brother, Awadesh Kumar, and sister’s son, Ashish Kumar, along with Awadhesh’s wife, Manju Devi, were also arrested. Awadhesh is a geography professor at the premier Patna Women’s College. “We have also taken into custody Ashish’s friend Sajjad Ahmed and BSSC’s IT manager Niti Pratap Singh,” said Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj, who is heading a special investigation team (SIT) formed at chief minister Nitish Kumar’s behest to probe the leak of questions for the four- phase examinations for 13,120 Intermediate-level clerical vacancies. The examinations, scheduled for January-February this year, were scrapped after the questions started doing the rounds on WhatsApp. “We have evidence to suggest the IAS official made available two sets of question papers and answer keys to his five kin. They were among the 18.5 lakh job aspirants who had applied for the examinations,” Maharaaj told newsmen. Sources said police had procured a warrant of arrest from a Patna court against the bureaucrat on Thursday after he misled them about the question setter and the location of the printing press where the questions were printed. During two rounds of interrogation earlier, Sudhir told the SIT the questions had been set by an IIT-Delhi professor. “Our inquiries revealed the professor didn’t set questions,” a police officer said, adding Sudhir, after the second round of questioning, went on three days’ leave from Monday but did not resume duty on Thursday.

Indian Engineer Shot Dead In Us; Shooter Screams ‘Get Out Of My Country’ An Indian engineer was shot dead while two others were injured in US after a local resident opened fire on them screaming ‘get out of my country’ in Kansas City on Wednessday.

Srinivas Kuchibhotla (32), who was working at GPS-maker Garmin headquarters in Olathe, was killed while another Indian man and his colleague Alok Madasani was critically injured after a 51-year-old opened fire on them screaming ‘get out of my country’. A local resident (Grillot) who tried to intervene also received injuries in the firing in Austins Bar and Grill in Olathe, sources said. The shooter, Adam Purinton, reportedly got into an argument with the victims in the terms of racism, and shouted ‘get out of my country’, ‘terrorist’ before shooting them. The shooter reportedly provoked them into argument asking their presence and work in his country, and how they are better than him. According to police, Purinton left the bar after the argument and then returned with a gun and shot the three men while patrons were watching the University of Kansas-TCU basketball game on television in the bar. The shooter was arrested on Thursday morning, five hours after the incident and charged with murder and attempted murder.

Cm Lays Foundations For Three Medical Colleges In Jharkhand Jharkahnd Chief Minister Raghubar Das laid the foundations of three medical colleges in Palamu, Hazaribagh and on Thursday. Speaking on the ocassion CM expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health Minister J P Nadda to help improve health facilities in the state. “While the Centre is spending 60 per cent, the state s contribution is 40 per cent.

This is going to be the first time in 45 years that new medical colleges were coming up in the region. Medical colleges would also be opened in Bokaro, Chaibasa and Koderma. All teaching and non-teaching posts will be filled up before the college buildings are ready,” he said. The total estimated costs of establishing the colleges are Rs 292.7 crore, Rs 298.6 crore and Rs 293.9 crore respectively. Das said the government was providing 329 ambulances to panchayats to improve health services in villages. “The people in many parts of the state are facing difficulty in getting better treatment due to lack of doctors. Now instead of 350 doctors every year, we will get 650 doctors which will meet the demands. With the establishment of medical colleges in Bokaro, Koderma and Chaibasa, the problem of doctors will be sorted out to a greater extent,” he said. The CM further said that after opening of AIIMS in Deoghar and medical college in Santhal Pargana, 65 lakh people will be benefitted and more than 10 thousand people will get direct or indirect employment. Township will be developed around Dumka and Dighi, he said, adding further, “The government will provide Rs. 50 crore guarantor seed money for talented SC and ST students and Rs. 10 crore for students of any other category so that banks can give them loans easily.” Praising the government for having conducted Momentum Jharkhand successfully, the CM said that Jharkhand is confident and is leading towards sustainable development. He said a CM Entrepreneur Board will be established to fuel lac, silk, palas and dairy development. “These boards will be professional in nature. Momentum Jharkhand has opened new avenues for employment. About 11,000 investors from all over the world are willing to invest in Jharkhand in food, textile, footwear and other sectors. It will not only create employment but also minimize migration,” he said. Also present on the occasion, Union Minister of State for Aviation Jayant Sinha said that air service will start from Dumka and Ranchi in 6 months. He said that he is emotionally attached with Dumka. He thanked Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda for giving Medical College in Dumka. Speaking at Dumka, Welfare Minister Louis Marandi said that it is a historic moment. She said that silk and small as well as big industries should be established in Dumka. Health Minister Ram Chandra Chandravanshi said that health services will expand in Jharkhand. Underlining the specialty of Medical College, he said that this 500 bed college is being built in 12 acre area in two year span with an expenditure of Rs. 297.72. He said that special provision will be there for physically challenged candidates. Every year 100 students will be admitted in the college. He later said that the opening of a proposed Agriculture University in Godda and ‘agro-college’ in Sahibganj will play an important role in development of the state. Additional Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathi said that 100 bed hospitals are being opened in Hansdiha and Mahagama which will provide better health facilities. About 1.4 Million Children ‘At Imminent Risk Of Death’ In 4 African Nations : Un Warns The United Nations International Children’s Fund (UNICEF) warned that 1.4 children from four counties are at risk of death from severe acute malnutrition, this year.

Famine looms in parts of Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan and Yemen, and time is “running out for more than a million children”, the world body said. “We can still save many lives,” UNICEF Executive Director Anthony Lake said, “The severe malnutrition and looming famine are largely man-made.” According to the report, the number of children with severe acute malnutrition in northeast Nigeria is expected to reach 450,000 this year while in South Sudan more than 270,000 children are severely malnourished. In Somalia, UNICEF said, almost half the population, or 6.2 million people, are facing acute food insecurity and are in need of humanitarian assistance. Some 185,000 children are expected to suffer from severe acute malnutrition this year, however this figure is expected to rise to 270,000 in the next few months, the organisation added. And in Yemen, the UNICEF estimates that 462,000 children are currently suffering from severe acute malnutrition – a nearly 200 per cent increase since 2014. All the four countries have been ravaged by conflict. Urging the world to take action, UNICEF Executive Director Lake went on the say, “Our common humanity demands faster action.”
