Basically, I’m talking about a few true dance clubs — quite hip, mind you — plus a good supply of live music venues (where the city shines), and bars and pubs with char- acter. You also find a decent slate of theater offerings. In fact, in an effort to support the performing arts, the tourism folks have developed an entire entertainment season (a.k.a. fall and winter), and Yaletown’s been dubbed the city’s “entertainment district” because of its proximity to many event venues. Where should you go to find nightlife? Dance clubs increasingly litter the Yaletown, Robson Street, and downtown districts, while Kitsilano is more a place for an organic brew or a glass of wine. More upscale areas, such as South Granville and the West End, offer the sorts of bars where you may want to wear a jacket or at least shuck your sneakers — places where a drink can cost more than a meal sets you back in other parts of town. Finally, strip joints have long been fixtures on the fringes of down- town, Yaletown, and East Hastings — not that you were thinking of going to one ofCOPYRIGHTED those.

    CIRCLE LAUNCHES ON JANUARY 1 WITH 16 ORIGINAL SHOWS New Network To Debut In More Than 50 Percent of U.S. TV Households Planned Companion OTT (Over-The-Top) Premium Entertainment Service Set to Launch in Late Spring 2020 NASHVILLE, Tenn., December 11, 2019 – Circle, a new country music and lifestyle television network launching January 1, 2020, announced 16 original shows and two major distribution partnerships that will broadcast Circle in markets covering more than 50 percent of U.S. TV households. Circle will be available on Gray Television stations across 56 markets throughout the country as well as on stations in markets such as New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Tampa and Detroit through a separate distribution agreement with CBS Television Stations. “We are excited to launch the network with a fantastic slate of new, original programming that is true to Circle’s core mission,” said Drew Reifenberger, general manager of Circle Media. “These 16 shows are just the start of how we intend to bring fans closer to the artists they love, with more than a dozen additional shows in various stages of production and development. Serving as the regular drumbeat of Circle will be our broadcasts of each week’s live Grand Ole Opry performances.” Circle will feature original programming centered around artists and their music; hobbies; outdoor and offstage adventures; food; family; and friends. Circle will also offer entertainment news, documentaries and movies along with licensed programming and archival content. Original programs at launch include: 1.     2012/2013 Annual Report Where 2,985 youth found a place to grow, thrive and create positive change! Dear Friends, On behalf of our staff and the 2,985 youth we served in 2012-2013, thank you for supporting Oasis Center. As I wrap up my first full year at Oasis, one word comes to mind: Strength. President John F. Kennedy said, “Do not pray for easier lives; pray to be stronger.” For Oasis, fis- cal year 2012-2013 was about remembering, testing, and increasing our strength as an agency. I am proud to say that today, as it has been for the last forty-five years, Oasis Center remains a strong, bright ray of light shining for the youth of Nashville. This year, we faced unprecedented opportunities for growth. Some initially presented themselves as difficult challenges, but all proved to be absolutely invaluable for us. In the face of ever-changing federal funding, we came together to ensure that not only would we continue our current services without interruption, we would also rise above the temporary challenges and face the bigger need of evaluating and strengthening our role in the community. Thanks to our dedicated staff and your support, we managed to successfully overcome our challenges and finished the year a stronger, more cohesive agency. Thank you for believing in the power of Oasis Center to be just that for the youth of Nashville-the oasis where they can count on finding the care, the support, and the opportunities they deserve.
