The six defibrillators owned by the Community Council, are in the following locations: Cwm Ivy, Llanmadoc Shop, The Brit, Landimore, Llangennith Hall and Burry Green Chapel. These are regularly checked, but if anyone should notice a red light or a beeping noise from any of them, please report it as soon as possible to the clerk (details above). Also if it has been necessary to use a defibrillator, please notify the clerk as she holds new pads for the machines which are essential for their use.

Some of the Ash trees on the common land at the side of Llanmadoc Hall and alongside the road at Burry Green have Ash dieback. The Community Council are making arrangement to have these felled and removed. Other Ash trees on common land are also being assessed.

There has been an update regarding the landslide at Cheriton, the highways manager has replied stating the following “Whilst I appreciate the inconvenience to local residents and road users I can inform you that we have engaged with our colleagues in our Construction section who will be carrying out the works, we are looking at potential schemes that will best resolve this issue in the reinstatement of the highway at this location we are hoping to finalise the required works ASAP”. Let’s hope this leads to a positive outcome shortly.

During the summer, there has been a noticeable increase in traffic all over and there have been reports of speeding through the villages of Bury Green, Llanmadoc and Llangennith. In support of the communities, the Community Councillors are requesting slow signs be placed at the entrances to all these villages. We will keep everyone up to date on this request.

The Community Council has agreed to contribute to the village Christmas trees again this year at Llangennith, Burry Green and Llanmadoc. They feel the villages will benefit from looking colourful and cheerful after this difficult year.

The Councillors wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, they ask everyone to stay safe and follow the Welsh Government guidelines. If anyone is struggling and needs help during this period, please contact any of the Councillors and they will try to advise you. Here’s hoping 2021 will bring us all more normality!
