Madhya Pradesh (M.P) called the Heart of India is a state situated in central India. M.P. was originally the largest state of India until November 1, 2000 when the state of Chhattisgarh was carved out (Bhopal is the capital). The state has an area of 308,252 km2 (119,017 sq mi). BANDGHAVGARH

Bandhavgarh National Park is a 448 km2 renowned tiger reserve. Nestled among the picturesque Vindhya and Satpura ranges, this is one of India’s most beautiful national parks. The dramatic landscape features tropical forests and woodlands, and steep rocky hills with flat grasslands in the valleys below. An ancient 2000 year old fort, 10th century statue of Lord Vishnu, and the dense Sal jungle combined with the grasslands make Bandhavgarh one of the most extraordinary parks in India.

Bandhavgarh supports one of the highest densities of tigers on the Subcontinent. Its hilly open terrain includes many large grassland meadows that offer good chances

of sightings. The density of its big cat population has made Bandhavgarh world famous.

The Park is also home to a large variety of mammals: leopard, chital (spotted deer), Sambar deer, nilgai, wild boar, chinkara, sloth bear, rhesus macaque, grey langur, jungle cat, hyena, porcupine, jackal, fox, and wild dog. Game drives are the main reason to come and stay in the Park.

The Bandhavgarh National Park provides its own climate, atmosphere, water and nutrition through its recycling systems. Bandhavgarh experiences climatic conditions that vary to opposite extremes. The temperature in the winters varies from 0 to 20 degrees centigrade between November and February.

In the summers, the temperatures move to the other extreme and can go up to 46 degrees centigrade. Bandhavgarh has an average annual rainfall of 1200mm. The rains here give very little prior warning. The rains, however, bring good respite from the burning heat. The main monsoon season mostly begins only once the park is closed from June to November.

AREPL plans to set its feet in the midst of the jungle by setting up a camping resort type of an accommodation in a wide spread area of 14 acres. The land is closest to the new entry gate of the jungle mainly known as GHORI GATE towards Umaria, District Headquarters which is hardly 15 k.m. from the land location. To be more precise, the land is exactly in the centre of Umaria and Tala Gate (First Entry Gate to Jungle) and is also adjacent to the boundary of the National Park which gives AREPL an advantage as all other resorts (generally 2 star) and Mahua Kothi (A resort of Taj Group of Hotels) are situated on the outskirts of the National park Boundary. AREPL, keeping in view all age and demographics wishes to develop a Wildlife Resort offering activities to all age groups to have best of their leisure time during the short stay. Since it is serene and pollution free environment, the guests/visitors will be able to relax and rejuvenate to the maximum in the lap of nature.

KHAJURAHO

Khajuraho, a town of Madhya Pradesh, situated in the Chhatarpur District, is one of the major and the most popular tourist destination in India. In the temple architecture of India, the Khajuraho complex remains unique. Back in 1000 A.D. under the generous and the artistic patronage of the Chandela Kings, 85 magnificent temples richly carved in its own unique way came up on site in the city of Khajuraho. Khajuraho has the largest group of medieval Hindu and Jain temples, famous for their sculptures.

The temples are grouped into three geographical divisions: western, eastern and southern. The Khajuraho temples are made of sandstone. The builders didn't use mortar: the stones were put together with mortise and tenor joints and they were held in place by gravity. This form of construction requires very precise joints. The columns and architraves were built with megaliths that weighed up to 20 tons. The Saraswati temple on the campus of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in Pilani, India, is modeled after the Khajuraho temples.

The Khajuraho temple complex offers a professional light and sound show every evening, featuring both in English followed by . The show is about an hour long and covers the history, philosophy and the art of sculpting of these temples. It is held in the open lawns in the temple complex. The Khajuraho Dance Festival, held every year in the first week of February (1st to 7th), is an opportunity for visitors to experience various classical Indian dances set against the backdrop of the Chitragupta or Vishwanath Temples.
