Our goal in producing it is simple: we want to help you identify Israeli technologies and innovations that can create value for your business. In a broad sense, we believe that Israel is perfectly situated to do that. Recently, the IMD Global Competitiveness Yearbook 2014-2015 ranked Israel 1st in innovative capacity, in cyber security, and in entrepreneurship, 2nd in scientific research and in flexibility, and 3rd for its information technology skills and its innovation. In fact, over 300 multinational corporations across a wide range of fields have already chosen to build research and development centers in Israel. We are confident that the oil and gas industry will also be able to benefit from Israeli innovation. Naturally, our ultimate goal is to leverage Israel's recent offshore natural gas discoveries to develop an Israeli knowledge-based supplier industry integrated into the oil and gas sector, both locally and, more importantly, globally. We believe the oil and gas industry is a natural partner for Israeli industry: addressing the major technological challenges facing the global oil and gas industry require expertise in a host of different disciplines, and, for many of these disciplines, Israeli industry is already known to excel on a global scale. It is clear that the Israeli economy will benefit directly from its newfound natural resources; however our focus is on maximizing the indirect benefits that will accompany a thriving knowledge-intensive Israeli industry integrated into the global oil and gas sector. The Israeli economy has never relied on natural resources, which are, by definition, limited. Instead, Israel has grown through knowledge, technology, and innovation, which are, by their very essence, infinite! Ultimately, our goals will only be achieved through strategic partnerships. We believe this catalogue will make it easier for partnerships to be formed, and we encourage you to connect with companies of interest. To assist you in finding the most relevant companies, we have organized them into six major categories, and then into more specific subcategories. We truly hope you'll find this catalogue to be a useful and valuable tool, and we look forward to your successful partnerships. Through an extensive and broad approach to the Israeli industry at large, we have identified a set of 184 companies with a clear value proposition specifically relevant to the oil and gas industry. Most companies are technologically oriented; some are more service oriented. Most companies will prove relevant for the global oil and gas industry; some are more focused on the local industry. After a careful review of all the offerings in the catalogue, we have divided the companies into six major categories: Monitoring & Control, IT & Communications, Consulting & Services, Engineering & Construction, Safety & Security, and Water & Environment. We have dedicated time and effort to organizing the information in the most accessible way allowing search by category, subcategory, or simply in alphabetical order, all with links to a full-page listing of each company. We hope you will find the different indices useful. When I received an invitation from SAA to the final of the World Cup Rugby at Ellis Park, I was really not sure if it was worth travelling 16 hours to see a I 1/2 hour match that I could probably see much better in my own living room!!! Luckily my gut feeling got the better of me, I suppose, and Tm now in the plane on my way home after participating in a "Great Historical" sports event. Only by being there could one really feel the fantastic atmosphere and experience what the New South Africa really means." The excitement could be felt throughout the city with thousands of fans making their way to the ground all dressed up in crazy hats carrying flags of all sizes (only the New South African flag of course!). There were stands on street corners "painting" the new flag on people's faces, and, of course, folks gathered around their traditional "Braaivleis" drinking and smiling. Inside the ground the 70,000 crowd were wildly excited as they greeted the two teams who took to the field. To hear 70,000 people shouting "Nelson, Nelson" as that great man entered what was formerly the bastion and stronghold of white South African supremacy, is a moment never to be forgotten.

[Of course, that includes a 3 hour lay-over in NY]. JANUARY 07, 2006 First Day In Israel Hi from Nazareth! We made it to Israel safely and with almost all of our things. It is great to be here, but we are looking forward to a good night's rest. We left the airport around lunchtime today and spent the afternoon in Caesarea and Megiddo. We had our first taste of Israeli food at lunch in a local restaurant. It was a lot different from our typical American restaurants, but I think we all enjoyed it. Caesarea is a Roman city built on the Mediterranean by Herod a few years before Jesus was born. The city contains a theatre, bathhouse, aqueduct, and palace among other things. The theatre was large and had a beautiful view of the Mediterranean. There was an aqueduct (about 12 miles of which are still in tact) which provided water to the city. The palace, which sits on the edge of the water, was home to Pontius Pilot after Herod s death. We then went to Megiddo, which is a city, much of which was built by King Solomon over 3000 years ago.

Articles & Testimony M arch 15, 2016 When the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited me to visit Israel as part of a delegation of European-based Arab journalists and media representatives, I accepted without hesitation. The goal of the invitation was to provide us with an opportunity to freely explore the different dimensions to life inside the state of Israel. Located in the heart of the Middle East and one of the region's central and enduring conflicts, Israel receives a large amount of attention from neighboring peoples curious about the state itself and its management. Although major developments in international communication and accessibility of knowledge have transformed the world into a connected community that now sometimes resembles a small village, Arab media coverage of Israel continues to be characterized by a lack of clarity and misrepresentation, making it difficult for Arab citizens to truly understand the country. The persistent and recurring problems in the West Bank and Gaza are of major concern to many Arabs, but media sources often conflate the State's controversial foreign policy with life inside the the country itself and produce dystopian visions of life inside its borders. This thesis explores Anglo-French tensions in Ottoman Syria, from the signing of the Entente to the secret Sykes-Picot Agreement in 1916. Syria proved to be a cause of frictions that brought many buried Anglo-French resentments back to the surface and created new ones. Cultural, strategic, and economic interests were at stake, interests which weighed heavily upon the Entente powers and which could not easily be forgone for the sake of ‘cordiality’. This thesis presents evidence that unresolved Anglo-French tensions in Syria raised serious concerns among officials of both empires as to the larger future of their Entente, and that even after the Entente joined in war against their common enemies, such doubts persisted.
