Greenagel IIVolume 4 of this series was a complete, epic 1-star disaster (it was a 4 issue mini-series that focused on Galvatron and a dead universe). This volume is a return to the main story with all the generation 1 and 2 characters that the series has been following. There are a number of plot lines that are addressed in the early pages of this volume, but the reason this is a 5-star book is because this is the first appearance of James Roberts in the Transformers universe, and he arrives with a glorious bang. He spends pages and pages on the Optimus- relationship, as they move back and forth between the present (Megatron surrendered in vol. 4 and is a prisoner of the ) and a time before the war (4M+ years ago).It is here that Roberts inserts a number of plotlines and character arcs that he would adroitly draw out over 50+ issues of the brilliant "More Than Meets The Eye" series. It is wonderfully done, and a welcome relief from the inconsistent work of Mike Costa.*Megatron's political writings when he was a miner are first revealed here (in fact, his writing inspired Optimus to challenge the Senate). Megatron suggests people should ask three questions of their leaders. We learn of them when Optimus (Optimus!) asks them in the Senate: 1) On whose interests do you exercise your power? 2) To whom are you accountable? and 3) How can we get rid of you?1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Overall a good readBy Zachary W. DyerThis book starts out with a bang and ends on an explosion. The first issues fill the reader in on the fate of Rodimus and a certain rhyming who hasn't been seen since his fantastic spotlight issue several years ago. Rodimus Having been blasted into space by a ressurected Megatron finds himself stranded on an unknown planet with the Autobot Matrix of leadership imbedded in his chest.Events shift to Cybertron where we meet up with Ironhide, Sunstreaker, and Bob the insecticon (Mike Costa's failed attempt at injecting humor into the story), who hitch a ride with Rodimus and crew to Earth to meet up with Optimus. This first part of the book isn't bad, it's several issues of just bringing characters togethor but it's done well. The last two issues of this book are where the really good stuff lies.James Roberts takes over as writer for these two issues and it's abundantly clear where the talent lies. These two issues alone tell a story that any Transformer fan can and will enjoy. Focusing on a pre war Cybertron, Roberts gives us a brilliant tale that really shocases the motivation behind and Megatron. This alone has been one of the most enjoyable moments reading IDW's Transformer books. In total Chaos Theory is a good read, and was well worth the purchase.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Transformers, Vol 5: Chaos TheoryBy Rob MurphyI loved the story and I loved the art. I also loved the plot of this story and its conclusion. I didn't like how Brawn beatup but I'll let you read that yourself and decide... The book itseld is very durable and the pages are a nice glossy texture that makes for easy reading. I HIGHLY recommend this and the previous 4 volumes!!! I have them all and I have read them all repeatedly... Good reading my friends!
