Another good volume of IDW's Transformers reboot series. Storyline is gettin'more and more interesting, sadly Don Figueroa's amazing art, a mash up of classical Transformers G1-G2 with Michael Bay's movies mecha design, is no more but for covers. Luckly Guidi's classical art style is so good that you almost not notice that. Good story, horrible Kindle formatting The story and art is great! However, the Kindle ebook formatting for this one was extremely screwed up for me. The cover page is fine. But all the rest have compressed down into the wrong aspect ratio. Instead of displaying as a rectangle, each page shows up as a distorted square, with empty black spaces above and below. Nothing I've done has been able to fix this. I'm using a model Kindle Fire HD I've tried rebooting, deleting, reinstalling, rep Transformers: International Incident Volume 2 story, horrible Kindle formatting The story and art is great! I've tried rebooting, deleting, reinstalling, repurchasing, and changing every display setting possible. Nothing works. I've also spent about 2 hours on the phone with Amazon customer service. While they tried to be helpful and did the best they could, they weren't able to fix it either. Very frustrating! Transformers: International Incident Volume 2 story though. Hopefully there will be an update in the future that fixes this file. And while I may or may not be the only one who has experienced this, I hope I don't have this problem on any other IDW comics. Aug 16, Kavinay rated it it was ok. You get the sense that Mike Costa really didn't have a lot for his Cybertronians to say. That's not a metaphor. Panels are large, dialogue relatively terse and the stories are fairly decompressed compared to where IDW would eventually end up with in Barber and Roberts' writing. Ultimately though, this book is probably one of the weakest parts of IDW's run. Anytime humans have d You get the sense that Mike Costa really didn't have a lot for his Cybertronians to say. Anytime humans have drastically more pages of dialogue than Cybertronians, you're more unlikely to get a compelling Transformers story. Aug Transformers: International Incident Volume 2, Daniel rated it it was amazing. I read lots of books, and this one reminds of what is going on currently in our country and around the world, talk about prescient. This is a great story and this 2nd vol. I suggest reading it. Transformers: International Incident Volume 2, it's easier if you did start with first volume, but this one is great. It's like Mike Costa was warming up and is now hitting his stride. Mar 23, Benjamin Lewis rated it it was ok. The art has Transformers: International Incident Volume 2. The storytelling has not. It is difficult to care when there are so few character moments for the Robots. This has become the Spike Witwickey show--and he is not a compelling hero. If you are trying to read the whole of Transformers IDW continuity, skip from "for all mankind" straight to "chaos theory. Jul 08, Cappy rated it liked it Shelves: graphic-novels. Turns out situating these intergalactic characters in very real terrestrial political conflicts makes for pretty good storytelling. Jan 19, Marta Duda-Gryc rated it it was ok. Readable, not very engaging though. But for Thundercracker and Bumblebee conversation: pure gold, six stars! Apr 22, Graham Bradley rated it liked it. Artwork was not as good as v1, but the story was better. Human Alliances! Epic Action! Apr 11, ruby healy rated it did not like it. Watching Totally Not Kim Jong Un wage war with the Combaticons is fun in a "dear God they really wrote this unironically" way for all of two minutes until the crushingly awful story puts you to sleep quite literally, in my case. Took me three days to slog through this volume. Nov 21, Mike rated it liked it Shelves: idw. A solid follow up to "For All Mankind". Again this book doesnt explode out of the blocks, but works it's way up to some good old fashioned "giant robots vs giant robots" action. Sep 24, Martin Lund rated it it was ok. This volume could have been called Transformers: American Exceptionalism in Disguise. The choice of North Korea and China was particularly handy for those who weren't quite getting it.
