Kevin Weekes (born April 4, 1975) is a retired Canadian professional who most recently played for the of the (NHL). He is now a colour commentator on Hockey Night in , and a studio analyst for NHL Networks' NHL on the Fly. Weekes was born in , , and grew up in Scarborough, Ontario. Weekes' career began with the Platers of the . He also had a brief stint with the Ottawa 67's. Weekes was the primary goalie for the Hurricanes during the 2002-03 season playing in 51 games and compiling a 14-24-9 record and was the primary goalie for the Hurricanes in 2003-04 playing in 66 games compiling a 23-30-11 record. The goaltender keeps busy away from the ice. He hosts the Annual Kevin Weekes Celebrity Golf Classic in his parents' native Barbados, goalie schools, including this year in New Jersey, sponsors many minor hockey causes and charities, including Toronto-based Shoot for a Cure and Art City. Recently, Weekes, who is in his 11th NHL season, and Glen Metropolit of the , who is also a Toronto-born pro athlete, donated $25,000 worth of equipment to the Wellesley Community Centre on behalf of the NHL Players' Association Goals and Dreams Fund. Weekes made history in 2009, when he became the first black analyst in hockey. Weekes provides colour commentary for NHL games on the NHL Network and . In 2011 edition of the 100 Most Powerful people in ice hockey, Weekes was considered one of the Top 40 under the age of 40. Weekes also dabbles in acting, including a cameo on the CW television series Everybody Hates Chris. Weekes' parents emigrated from Barbados to Canada and went to Dr. Norman Bethune Collegiate Institute.

It gives a heartfelt look from the eyes of four narrators, two Britons and two Jamaicans as they outline their personal struggles, biases and relationships.

Andrea Levy, who was born in England to Jamaican parents, wrote this critically acclaimed book, which was later made into an award winning BBC mini series.

Mandela Long Walk to Freedom DVD PG-13 (2013) This biopic gives the story of Nelson Mandela spanning the years of his childhood, to his incarceration, ending with his inauguration as the first democratically elected president of South Africa.

Covering a wide expanse of history, it is based on Mandela’s personal memoir. It stars Idris Elba as Nelson Mandela and Naomie Harris as Winnie Mandela and can serve as a primer for the life and times of the iconic Mandela.
