The Surat Thani Provincial Statistical Office, acting as a core agency of the local statistical office, has therefore, produced provincial statistical report. This report presents basic statistical data, concerning economic, social and environmental aspects, including the provincial indicators. Those statistics were from both censuses and surveys conducted by NSO as well as from other statistical units of Line Ministries. These statistical data could be used to guide policy planning, decision making and references purposes. The Surat Thani Provincial Statistical Report 2018 consists of; Part 1: Presentation of an overview of Surat Thani, on basic information, its map and statistical data in the form of Infographic. Part 2: Presentation of statistical data and some major indicators, in the form of statistical tables, which enable users to use complete data in timely manner. The presentation has been classified based on statistical sectors namely: Demographic, Population and Housing Statistics, Labour Statistics, Education Statistics, Religion Art and Culture Statistics, Health Statistics, Social Security Statistics, Gender Statistics, Household Income and Expenditure Statistics, Justice, Security, Political and Public Administration Statistics, National Accounts, Agricultural and Fishery Statistics, Industrial Statistics, Energy Statistics, Trade and Price Statistics, Transport and Logistics Statistics, Information Communication and Technology Statistics, Tourism and Sports Statistics, Finance, Banking and Insurance Statistics, Fiscal Statistics and Natural Resources and Environment Statistics. Sources of data presented have been provided under all statistical tables to enable users to seek additional information. For further information, please visit our website at http://www.nso.go.th or Provincial Statistical Data Center at http://service.nso.go.th/nso/ nsopublish/contact/datact/datprov.html แผนที่จังหวัดสุราษฎรธานี เกาะเตา จ.ชุมพร จ.ระนอง อาวไทย ทาเรือเฟอรรี่ จ.พังงา จ.นครศรีธรรมราช จ.กระบี่ จังหวัดสุราษฎรธานี ความเปนมา สุราษฎรธานีเปนเมืองเกาแกที่มีมาตั้งแต โดยทางรถยนตประมาณ 660 กิโลเมตร และหาง สมัยกอนประวัติศาสตร ชนพื้นเมือง ไดแก พวกเซมัง จากจังหวัดอันเปนศูนยกลางของภาคใต คือ และมลายูดั้งเดิม ซึ่งอาศัยอยูในเขตลุมน้ําหลวง จังหวัดสงขลาและจังหวัดภูเก็ตเปนระยะทาง (แมน้ําตาป) และบริเวณอาวบานดอน กอนที่ ประมาณ 300 กิโลเมตร และ 250 กิโลเมตร ชาวอินเดียจะอพยพเขามาตั้งหลักแหลงและเผยแพร ตามลําดับ เนื้อที่ทั้งสิ้น 12,891 ตารางกิโลเมตร วัฒนธรรม ดังปรากฏหลักฐานในชุมชนโบราณที่ มีอาณาเขตติดตอ ดังนี้ อ. ทาชนะ อ.ไชยา เปนตน ตอมาในพุทธศตวรรษ ทิศเหนือ ติดจังหวัดระนอง จังหวัด ที่ 13 มีหลักฐานปรากฏวาเมืองนี้ไดรวมกับอาณาจักร ชุมพรและอาวไทย ศรีวิชัย เมื่ออาณาจักรนี้เสื่อมลง จึงแยกออกเปน 3 ทิศตะวันออก ติดจังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช เมือง คือ เมืองไชยา เมืองทาทอง และเมืองคีรีรัฐ ทิศใต ติดจังหวัดกระบี่ ขึ้นตอเมืองนครศรีธรรมราช ทิศตะวันตก ติดจังหวัดพังงา ตอมาในรัชสมัยของพระบาทสมเด็จ พระจอมเกลาเจาอยูหัวโปรด ฯ ใหยายเมืองทาทอง ภูมิประเทศและภูมิอากาศ มาตั้งที่บานดอน และยกฐานะเปนเมืองจัตวา ขึ้นตรง จังหวัดสุราษฎรธานีมีพื้นที่กวางใหญ ตอกรุงเทพ ฯ พระราชทานนามวา “เมืองกาญจนดิษฐ" และมีสภาพภูมิประเทศที่หลากหลาย ไดแก ครั้นเมื่อมีการปกครองแบบมณฑล ไดรวมเมือง ภูมิประเทศแบบที่ราบชายฝงทะเล ที่ราบสูง ทั้งสามเปนเมืองเดียวกันเรียกวา เมืองไชยา ตอมา รวมทั้งภูมิประเทศแบบภูเขา ซึ่งกินพื้นที่ของ พ.ศ. 2458 รัชกาลที่ 6 โปรด ฯ ใหเปลี่ยนชื่อเมือง จังหวัดถึงรอยละ 40 ของพื้นที่ทั้งหมด โดยมีทิวเขา ไชยา มาเปนเมืองสุราษฎรธานี แปลวา “เมืองแหง ภูเก็ตทอดตัวในแนวเหนือ - ใตของจังหวัด และมี คนดี” ลุมน้ําที่สําคัญ คือ ลุมน้ําตาป ไชยา ทาทอง เปนตน ขนาดและที่ตั้ง ดานตะวันออกเปนฝงทะเลอาวไทย และมี เกาะนอยใหญที่มีประชากรอาศัย สวนดาน จังหวัดสุราษฎรธานีเปนจังหวัดที่มีพื้นที่มาก ตะวันตก มีลักษณะเปนภูเขาสูง มีแมน้ําสายสําคัญ ที่สุดของภาคใต ตั้งอยูบนชายฝงทะเลดานตะวันออก คือ แมน้ําตาป ทางภาคใตของประเทศไทย อยูหางจากรุงเทพมหานคร viii เนื่องจากทําเลที่ตั้งรวมถึงภูมิประเทศ ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติแหลงนํา้ และสภาพทาง จังหวัดสุราษฎรธานีไดรับอิทธิพลจากมรสุมตะวันตก เศรษฐกจิ เฉียงใตที่พัดมาจากมหาสมุทรอินเดีย รวมทั้งมรสุม ปาไมเปนทรัพยากรธรรมชาติที่สําคัญของ ตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือที่พัดผานอาวไทย จึงทําให จังหวัดสุราษฎรธานี ปาไมในจังหวัดมีทั้งปาโปรง จังหวัดสุราษฎรธานีมีชวงฤดูฝนยาวนานมาก โดยกิน และปาดงดิบ จึงมีไมที่มีคามากมาย เชน ยาง ยูง ระยะเวลาตั้งแตเดือนพฤษภาคมจนถึงเดือนมกราคม เคี่ยม ตะเคียน จําปา พะยอม และไมอื่น ๆ โดยจังหวัดสุราษฏรธานีมีอุณหภูมิต่ําสุดเฉลี่ย 22.0 นอกจากนี้ ยังมีแรธาตุที่สําคัญอีกหลายชนิด อยูใน องศาเซลเซียส และอุณหภูมิสูงสุดเฉลี่ย 36.5 องศา ทองที่ตาง ๆ เชน ยิปซั่ม โดโลไมต แอนไฮไดรต เซลเซียส และปริมาณน้ําฝนเฉลี่ย 127.0 มิลลิเมตร หินปูน ดินขาว และบอลเครย ในป พ.ศ. 2559 มีจํานวนเหมืองแรเปดดําเนินการทั้งสิ้น 56 แหง การปกครองและประชากร แหลงนํ้าธรรมชาติที่สําคัญของจังหวัด ณ วันที่ 10 กุมภาพั นธ พ.ศ. 2559 จังหวัด สุราษฎรธานี ไดแก แมน้ําตาป แมน้ําพุมดวง สุราษฎรธานี แบงการปกครองสวนภูมิภาคออกเปน ตลอดจน โครงการชลประทานอีกหลายแหงที่เปน 19 อําเภอ 131 ตําบล 1,074 หมูบาน โดยมีอําเภอ ประโยชนตอการเกษตร ดังนี้ เมืองสุราษฎรธานี กาญจนดิษฐ เกาะพะงัน อาชีพที่สําคัญของประชาชนสวนใหญ เกาะสมุย คีรีรัฐนิคม เคียนซา ชัยบุรี ไชยา ดอนสัก ในจังหวัดนี้ คือ ทํานา ทําสวน ทําไร โดยใชที่ดิน ทาฉาง ทาชนะ บานตาขุน บานนาเดิม บานนาสาร เพื่อทําการเพาะปลูกประมาณ 45% ของพื้นที่ พนม พระแสง พุนพิน เวียงสระ และวิภาวดี ทั้งหมด ซึ่งพืชเศรษฐกิจที่สําคัญ ไดแก ยางพารา การปกครองสวนทองถิ่น ประกอบดวย ปาลมน้ํามัน มะพราว เงาะ ทุเรียน และกาแฟ องคการบริหารสวนจังหวัด 1 แหง เทศบาลนคร 2 แหง นอกจากนั้น ยังมีการเลี้ยงปศุสัตวและการทํา เทศบาลเมือง 3 แหง เทศบาลตําบล 35 แหง ประมง โดยปศุสัตวที่นิยมเลี้ยงกันมาก เชน โค จากรายงานของกรมการปกครองกระทรวงมหาดไทย

Charoen Wat-aksorn led the Love Bo Nok Group against construction of two coal-fired power plants for the last seven years. He was shot dead on his way home after testifying before the Senate committee on social development and human security and the House committee on counter- corruption on the alleged malfeasance of local land officials. He had accused the officials of trying to issue title deeds covering 53 rai of public land in tambon Bo Nok of Muang district to Phuan Wanwongsa, allegedly for a local ''influential person''. He also accused many government officials and influential figures of encroaching on public land.

The research considers strategies that might permit religious tourism development while conserving the cultural heritage significance of the places. A review of the evolution of tourism development and evaluation of tourism impacts by assessing and studying nine sacred temples’ cultural heritage was undertaken to develop a practicable approach to promoting and managing tourism sustainably. The research reveals that the development and promotion of the nine temples in Ang Thong occurs in two important stages. The first is the emergence of royal monasteries and common temples that reflect the relationship between the religion and society.
