Gnophos corsica was first described by Oberthür as a melanotic variety of "... Gnophos variegata Duponchel, 1830 : et un ö et une ç> d'une variété très obscure de Corse (PL CLXXIX, n° 1745 et 1746), morphe paraissant ..." constante et à laquelle je donne le nom de Corsica (Oberthür C. , 1913 -Et. Lép. comp. 7(1): 301). Later on, Prout (1915) treated Gnophos corsica Mill, (sic !) as a Corsican form of Gnophos variegata. Finally, Wehrli (1951) suggested that Gnophos corsica should be considered as a separate species. On the basis of external morphology and the shape of the genitalia, he included it in his new subgenus Euchro- gnophos (type species : Gnophos variegata). A comparison of the two above mentioned species clearly shows such an extreme morphological similarity to each other, that they can be considered as criptical species. For this reason I thought it interesting to point out some discriminant characters with regard to their external and internal morphology, more exactly outlining, at the same time, their geographical range. Anti-Zionism and Antisemitism Cosmopolitan Reflections
Anti-Zionism and Antisemitism Cosmopolitan Reflections David Hirsh Department of Sociology, Goldsmiths, University of London, New Cross, London SE14 6NW, UK The Working Papers Series is intended to initiate discussion, debate and discourse on a wide variety of issues as it pertains to the analysis of antisemitism, and to further the study of this subject matter. Please feel free to submit papers to the ISGAP working paper series. Contact the ISGAP Coordinator or the Editor of the Working Paper Series, Charles Asher Small. Working Paper Hirsh 2007 ISSN: 1940-610X © Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy ISGAP 165 East 56th Street, Second floor New York, NY 10022 United States Office Telephone: 212-230-1840 www.isgap.org ABSTRACT This paper aims to disentangle the difficult relationship between anti-Zionism and antisemitism. On one side, antisemitism appears as a pressing contemporary problem, intimately connected to an intensification of hostility to Israel. Opposing accounts downplay the fact of antisemitism and tend to treat the charge as an instrumental attempt to de-legitimize criticism of Israel. I address the central relationship both conceptually and through a number of empirical case studies which lie in the disputed territory between criticism and demonization. The paper focuses on current debates in the British public sphere and in particular on the campaign to boycott Israeli academia. Sociologically the paper seeks to develop a cosmopolitan framework to confront the methodological nationalism of both Zionism and anti-Zionism. It does not assume that exaggerated hostility to Israel is caused by underlying antisemitism but it explores the possibility that antisemitism may be an effect even of some antiracist forms of anti- Zionism. -

Contributions to Knowledge of the Geometrid Fauna of Bulgaria and Greece, with Four Species New for the Greek Fauna (Lepidoptera: Geometridae) (Plate 12)
Esperiana Band 18: 221- 224 Bad Staffelstein; Schwanfeld, 02. Dezember 2013 ISBN 978-3-938249-04-8 Contributions to knowledge of the geometrid fauna of Bulgaria and Greece, with four species new for the Greek fauna (Lepidoptera: Geometridae) (plate 12) Balázs TÓTH, János BABICS & Balázs BENEDEK Abstract During a tour led by the authors to Bulgaria and Greece in March, 2013, a total of 19 geometrid species were observed at five localities. Biston achyra WEHRLI, 1936, Agriopis marginaria (FABRICIUS, 1776), A. leucophaearia ([DENIS & SCHIffERMÜLLER], 1775) and Erannis ankeraria (STAUDINGER, 1861) were found for the first time in Greece. An entirely new habitat type is included to the biotope range of E. ankeraria, arousing the possibility of this species being widespread in the Mediterranean countries. The authors hope that these observations will encourage attention to the exploration of the populations, thereby contributing to the more efficient protection of this species. Checklists are given to each collecting events. Key words: Biston, Agriopis, Erannis, Bulgaria, Greece, new data, oak woodland, macchia-scrub, soil types Introduction Biston achyra WEHRLI, 1936 was described from Asia Minor and subsequently found in Ukraine (KOSTJUK, 1990), the Levant (KOSTJUK, 1991) and Russia (SINEV, 2008). This species can be distinguished from its relative B. strataria (HUFNAGEL, 1767) by its considerably smaller size, more elongated forewing, and the presence of discal spot on the hindwing. Agriopis marginaria (FABRICIUS, 1776) and A. leucophaearia ([DENIS & SCHIFFERMÜLLER], 1775) are both frequent and widespread in Europe. The former species is distributed from the Iberian Peninsula to the Urals and the Caucasus Mts., and is also present in Asia Minor. -

Lepidoptera in Cheshire in 2002
Lepidoptera in Cheshire in 2002 A Report on the Micro-Moths, Butterflies and Macro-Moths of VC58 S.H. Hind, S. McWilliam, B.T. Shaw, S. Farrell and A. Wander Lancashire & Cheshire Entomological Society November 2003 1 1. Introduction Welcome to the 2002 report on lepidoptera in VC58 (Cheshire). This is the second report to appear in 2003 and follows on from the release of the 2001 version earlier this year. Hopefully we are now on course to return to an annual report, with the 2003 report planned for the middle of next year. Plans for the ‘Atlas of Lepidoptera in VC58’ continue apace. We had hoped to produce a further update to the Atlas but this report is already quite a large document. We will, therefore produce a supplementary report on the Pug Moths recorded in VC58 sometime in early 2004, hopefully in time to be sent out with the next newsletter. As usual, we have produced a combined report covering micro-moths, macro- moths and butterflies, rather than separate reports on all three groups. Doubtless observers will turn first to the group they are most interested in, but please take the time to read the other sections. Hopefully you will find something of interest. Many thanks to all recorders who have already submitted records for 2002. Without your efforts this report would not be possible. Please keep the records coming! This request also most definitely applies to recorders who have not sent in records for 2002 or even earlier. It is never too late to send in historic records as they will all be included within the above-mentioned Atlas when this is produced. -

Cataleg Biodiversitat Albufera Mallorca 1998
