OFFICIAL PROGRAMME 2014 3 Greening the Festival With help from Green Hospitality and Greener Festivals, The Rose of Tralee International Festival is making a strong commitment to reduce its impact on the environment. This year we are delighted that Higgins Waste & Recycling are on board as a sponsor, helping us to convert more of our waste into recyclables and less going to landfill. In addition, Sean Murphy Electrical, who supplies all the decorative Festival street lighting, has converted to more energy efficient LED lamps resulting in a 98% reduction in power consumption, and as the life of LED lamps is much longer than regular bulbs, 75% fewer of them will need to be replaced each year. We also continue to work with our suppliers and local businesses in Tralee to help the town become a green tourism destination.
