Terrestrial Hibernation in the Northern Cricket Frog, Acris Cnepitans
1240 Terrestrial hibernation in the northern cricket frog, Acris cnepitans Jason T. hwin, Jon P. Gostanzo, and Rlchard E. Lee, Jr. Abstract: We used laboratory experiments and field observations to explore overwintering in the northern cricket frog, Acris crepitans, in southern Ohio and Indiana. Cricket frogs died within 24 h when submerged in simulated pond warer that was anoxic or hypoxic, but lived 8-10 days when the water was oxygenatedinitially. Habitat selectionexperiments indicated that cricket frogs prefer a soil substrate to water as temperature decreasesfrom 8 to 2"C. These data suggested that cricket frogs hibernate terrestrially. However, unlike sympatric hylids, this species does not tolerate extensive freezing: only 2 of 15 individuals survived freezing in the -0.8 to -2.6"C range (duration 24-96 h). Cricket fiogs supercooledwhen dry (mean supercoolingpoint -5.5"C; range from -4.3 to -6.8'C), but were easily inoculated by external ice at temperatures between -0.5 and -0.8"C. Our data suggested that cricket frogs hibernate terrestrially but are not freeze tolerant, are not fossorial, and are incapable of supercooling in the presence of external ice. Thus we hypothesized that cricket frogs must hibernate in terrestrial sites that adequately protect against freezing. Indeed, midwinter surveys revealed cricket frogs hibernating in crayfish burrows and cracks of the pond bank, where wet soils buff'ered against extensive freezing of the soil. Eminent 310 Unique
Eminent 310 Unique The Eminent 310 Unique is a home electronic organ that was built and introduced in 1972 by the Dutch organ manufacturer Eminent Orgelbouw B.V.[1] in Lelystad, the Netherlands. 9. ARP String Ensemble ⓠThe sounds it incorporates are violin, viola, trumpet, horn, cello, and contrabass. The keyboard uses organ style divide-down technology to make it polyphonic, the built-in chorus effect gives the instrument its distinctive sound. Just a quick test to see if the VP-03 is up for some classic phased pads with an Electro Harmonix Small Stone phaser. I didn't push the mini-jack plug all the way into the socket on the VP-03, the chorus gets a bit more wobbly when the stereo channels are combined to mono. This video shows the Eminent 310 Unique in action. This is the organ heard on Oxygene! The 310 has a huge popularity under Jean Michel Jarre fans -pioneer in the electronic music genre- who used this organ in 1976 for his well known composition Oxygen part IV. -

Indeed, from a position of relative obscurity when he arrived in New York in 1959, he went on to become one of contemporary jazz’s most prolific and commercially successful composers. The main focus of this dissertation will be Zawinul’s rise to prominence in American jazz during the 1960s and 1970s. -

Strategies for Managing Timbre and Interaction in Automatic
Strategies for Managing Timbre and Interaction in Automatic Improvisation Systems a b s t r a c t Earlier interactive improvisa- tion systems have mostly worked with note-level musical William Hsu events such as pitch, loudness and duration.
