Ian Alteveer Ian Alteveer is the Aaron I. Fleischman Curator in the Department of Modern and Contemporary Art at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. He recently co-curated retrospectives for Kerry James Marshall (2016), Marisa Merz (2017), and David Hockney (2017–18). He organized three Roof Garden Commissions at the museum for Pierre Huyghe (2015), Dan Graham with Günter Vogt (2014), and Imran Qureshi (2013) as well as the installation of William Kentridge: The Refusal of Time (2013). Before The Met, he was a graduate curatorial fellow and curatorial assistant at New York University’s Grey Art Gallery. He has an undergraduate degree from Stanford University and completed his qualifying exams for a PhD at New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts in 2006.

Jennie Goldstein Jennie Goldstein is Assistant Curator at the Whitney Museum where she works closely with the permanent collection. She curated Christine Sun Kim: Too Much Future (2018); co-curated An Incomplete History of Protest: Selections from the Whitney’s Collection, 1940-2017 (August 2017-August 2018); and has collaborated on other large-scale exhibitions including Human Interest: Portraits from the Whitney’s Collection and Where We Are: Selections from the Whitney’s Collection, 1900-1960. She has also curated collection displays of works on paper by Glenn Ligon and video works by Rosa Aiello, Tala Madani, and Amy Sillman. While pursuing her doctorate in art history at Stony Brook University Jennie worked in the Whitney’s Education department as a Joan Tisch Teaching Fellow. Jennie has a BA in art history from Oberlin College and an MA in art history from Stony Brook University. EXHIBITION JURY 2018

Laura Hoptman Laura Hoptman has been a Curator of contemporary art in the Department of Painting and Sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art since 2010. Since joining the museum she has co- curated “Bruce Conner: It’s All True,” a retrospective of the work of Bruce Conner and organized “Kai Althoff: and then leave me to the common swifts,” an immersive installation of three decades of work by this multi media artist. Also at MoMA, she has curated. “The Forever Now: Contemporary Painting in an Atemporal World”, a group exhibition of contemporary painting; “Isa Genzken: Retrospective”, the first American survey of this artist’s work; “Ecstatic Alphabets/Heaps of Language”, a group exhibition of contemporary art dealing with language, “Carol Bove: The Equinox”; “Artist’s Choice:

Trisha Donnelly”, and, with Peter Eleey at MoMAPS 1, a mid-career survey of the work of the Los Angeles painter Henry Taylor.

Hoptman began her curatorial career at the Bronx Museum where she served as an assistant curator. Since that time she has worked at MoMA in the department of drawings, organizing (with Lynn Zelevansky) “Love Forever: Yayoi Kusama”, a show that reintroduced Kusama to international audiences, “Drawing Now: Eight Propositions”, a landmark exhibition of contemporary figurative drawing, as well as the first U.S. museum exhibitions of Rirkrit Tiravanija, Maurizio Cattelan, John Currin, and Luc Tuymans among others. In 2004-05 she was the director of the 54th Carnegie International, and from 2006 to 2010 she was Senior Curator at the New Museum where she organized Unmonumental: The Object in the 21rst Century (with Richard Flood); The Generational: Younger Than Jesus (with Lauren Cornell and Massimiliano Gioni); and monographic exhibitions on Tomma Abts, Elizabeth Peyton, Brion Gysin and George Condo.

Kara Vander Weg Kara Vander Weg is a Director at Gagosian Gallery New York. Her primary focus is the management of established artists and artists’ estates, including the Estate of John Chamberlain, the Estate of Walter De Maria, Michael Heizer, Neil Jenney, Richard Serra, and Mark Tansey. She was a Director at the James Cohan Gallery in New York, and she worked in the curatorial department of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, from 1998-2003. She holds a B.A. in Art History from Northwestern University and an M.A. in Art History from Williams College.
