MAY 6TH . 2021 The Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon is the leading cat spay/neuter program in our state, providing free spay/neuter for feral cats. No other programs in the area provide the care that FCCO does, and your generous bidding and donations tonight will support our work for all the communities we serve. Together we’ll give much-needed services to more than 7,000 cats this year. She attempted to tame them, but they remained very skittish and wary of humans. Both were visibly pregnant by the following spring, and Melanie was able to find where they eventually had their litters. Through feeding and patience, the kittens were tamed, but the mama cats were still reproducing. With effort, this precious female, Daphne, and 20 other kitties from her colony are now spayed/neutered and vaccinated! SIGNATURESIGNATURE COCKTAILCOCKTAIL RECIPESRECIPES MARTIAN-TINIMARTIAN-TINI 1 part orange vodka 1 part vanilla vodka 1 part sweet and sour mix *simple syrup can be added to taste Grenadine or cherry syrup Orange slice and cherries for garnish • Fill shaker ¾ full with ice, add all ingredients and shake, 3 or stir well. • Drizzle a swirl of grenadine or other cherry syrup inside the martini glass. • Pour the contents of the shaker into the glass so the syrup mixes slowly. •Garnish with an orange slice and a cherry. Restaurants, bars, and shops, the social heart of our local communities, cannot afford 25 percent tariffs on European food and drink products and cannot recover with them in place. Our industry needs the tariffs to end immediately. Tariffs hurt many industries, but they hurt the hospitality industry most. As the crisis facing our industry deepens, the urgency of tariff relief grows. Our formula for survival through this economic crisis is simple: for each customer, we need to maximize sales of profit drivers like wine by the glass, and minimize the cost of inputs like cheese, olive oil, meat, and other food. These expensive tariffs make that impossible. We are gravely concerned that existing and proposed support programs do not, or will not, provide relief of the restaurant tariffs. We are also concerned that given the uncertain prospects for bilateral negotiations between the United States and the European Union, tariff relief may not come until well into 2021, or later. In place for over a year, the restaurant tariffs have in no way pressured the European Union to end its aircraft subsidies, yet the United States has kept these tariffs in place through the greatest crisis our industry has ever faced.

    Portland, Oregon Hints for getting around town: • East and West are divided by the Willamette River. • North and South are divided by Burnside St. • North Portland (NoPo) is on the east side of the river though. • North of Burnside in the NW, the streets are alphabetical, so next is Couch, then Davis, Everett, Flanders, and so on. • The numbers often give you a clue to how many streets north/south you are – 100 for each block (e.g., 650 NW 10th Ave. is on 10th btw. Hoyt & Johnson (remember to start w/Burnside)), or if you are on a name street, the number will correspond with the cross street (e.g., 1250 NW Glisan will be on Glisan btw. 12th & 13th). Easiest in the NW*. • "Downtown" refers to a portion of SW within the boundaries of the Willamette River and I-405, and south of Burnside St. • If you are driving, note that there are a lot of one-way streets. • The Portland Streetcar (goes more North/South) and MAX Light Rail (two lines east/west, and north/south) are free all day, every day within the Free Rail Zone (formerly Fareless Square) that includes downtown (within boundaries of Willamette River, NW Irving, and I-405), the Rose Quarter and the Lloyd District.
