Match Media

All match media (e.g. screenshots, demos etc.) must be kept by the player for at least 15 days. The player should upload the match media from a match to the tournament discord room as soon as possible.

Faking or manipulating match media is strictly forbidden and will result in severe penalties.

Match media should be named clearly based on its contents. If an administrator is hindered in their work because of poorly named match media, there may be penalties. However, players cannot raise a protest for poorly named match media.

You have to upload one round screenshot per played round and where necessary a screenshot which is showing the game settings. You have 1 hour to upload the match media after your match has ended.

ZAIN ESPORTS | 8

Screenshots

Both players are responsible that the screenshots of the match result are uploaded at the end of the match. The screenshots must show the names of both players and the match result.

It is also recommended that players take screenshots for disputable situations, such as disconnection, game settings issues etc. These screenshots can and will be used in the evidence in case of a dispute.

Match Rules

Connection issues

If two players are experiencing difficulties connecting to the lobby, the Referee will attempt to assist the competitors in setting up the game. If the players cannot connect to each other after 10 minutes past the scheduled match time, the game will be rescheduled or put on hold. If it is determined that a player’s connection is restricting them from entering a match, they may be forfeited.

If the player is experiencing connection issues during their match, the player needs to record this issue, leave the match and open a protest with proof of lag. Any goals that have been scored will remain in the event of a match continuation.

Example: The score is 2-0 and a player leaves a match in the 30th minute due to lag. When a new game begins, the remaining 60 minutes will be played out with the implied score of 2-0 intact.

If the evidence provided is not deemed to be sufficient, the player who left the match may be forfeited.

Disconnections

In the event that a disconnection occurs, players will have a total of 10 minutes per game to reconnect. In this instance, both players will start up a new game and play out the remaining minutes of the match, with the score from the prior game carrying over.

Example: The match is in the 50th minute with the score at 2-1 when the game disconnects. The Referee asks the players to play only the 1st half of the new game, with the implied score of 2-1 intact. In that half, each player scores one goal, making the final score 3-2. However, if the implied score is level after the total game time (90 minutes) has elapsed, both players must quit the game and start a new one under the golden goal/rematch rules.

If the player who disconnected had less players than their opponent due to a red card, they will be forfeited. The match will be reviewed to see which player has dropped out. If any given player is the cause of recurring disconnections, they may be forfeited.

Any player who deliberately disconnects the game or creates an unfair advantage by disrupting the connection during critical moments (e.g. while their opponent has a goalscoring opportunity) will be sanctioned accordingly by the Referee. This includes, but is not limited to: Forfeiture of a match, suspension, disqualification.

ZAIN ESPORTS | 9

Pauses

As per the FIFA 21 match settings, each player may pause the game up to three (3) times. Competitors must only pause the game to make tactical changes to their squad. Alternatively, the Referee may ask any given player to pause the game if there is an urgent issue that needs to be resolved. Any attempt to take advantage of a pause queue in the event of a glitch or technical issue is strictly prohibited.

Results

Both players are responsible to publish the correct results in the tournament discord room.

Both players are required to take a screenshot at the end of the match (with both players’ names and the result visible) and upload the screenshot after the match to the discord room. To do this, a screenshot should be taken when the game prompts a rematch, as this shows both the final score and player IDs. Alternatively, players can go to Online Friendlies > Recent Opponents > Current Season and screenshot the most recent season result.

Players are permitted to use their phones to take a photo of the result, but they must ensure the picture is clear and that it displays the required information.

Forfeits

If a player forfeits a match or if the Referee forfeits a player, the result will be recorded as a 3-0 loss, unless the forfeit occurs during the match where the current goal difference is greater than three (3) goals. In this case, the result will be awarded as the current score in that game.

Protests

If players have a conflict in the match, they should open a protest in the private discord room with the Referee. Tournament staff can review the dispute and make a decision. The decision can also mean that the players are disqualified if there is not enough proof for either player to be a clear winner.

If a match was incorrectly reported by your opponent, you have 15 minutes to protest the report. Players are responsible for providing proof of match results in case of disputes. Acceptable forms of proof are screenshots where the result and both players’ names are clearly visible.

Bugs/Glitches

Any deliberate attempt to glitch the game is strictly prohibited. If the Referee determines that a bug has occurred through no fault of a player, the Referee will decide whether the game can be restored to a fair state of play depending on the circumstances.

Referees

Referees will be present to officiate games as per the ruleset. In the event that there is a situation that is open to interpretation, Referees will use their sole discretion to resolve the matter. They will monitor all gameplay, inform players of match setup, resolve disputes and be the first point of contact for competitors for any enquiries. The decision of a Referee is final and binding.

ZAIN ESPORTS | 10

The following is a non-exhaustive list of examples of collusion:

● Intentionally losing a match for any reason; ● Playing on behalf of another competitor, including using a secondary account, to aid them in the tournament; ● Any form of match-fixing; and ● Agreeing to split the prize winnings

Fraud/Deception

Every match must be played according to the rules until it is complete and the result is published. Any match that did not take place, should be deleted.
