I am writing to confirm the tcome of the FE Commissioner Structure and Prospect · Appraisal of your Colle , and to set out the actions we now expect the College to take to ensure the Appraisal outcomes, and the FE Commissioner's earlier assessment, are fully implemented. I am very grateful for the support that the FE Commissioner has received from yourself and the College during the Appraisal, and the steps you have taken to date to respond to the recommendations in my predecessor's letter of 22 April 2014. As you are aware, in light of the notification by the Skills Funding Agency that the College's financial health is inadequate, the FE Commissioner reviewed the position of your College between 17 and 28 March 2014. The FE Commissioner acknowledged the capacity and capability of the governance and leadership to deliver financial recovery in the short term, but concluded that the College could not continue to operate on its own. The FE Commissioner was asked to lead a Structure and Prospects Appraisal to determine the way forward for land-based provision in the area. This Appraisal was completed in September 2014. I have now received the FE Commissioner's Appraisal report - a copy of which is attached.

    Hartpury University 10080811 Access and participation plan 2020-21 to 2024-25 1. Assessment of performance1 Since 2012, Hartpury has submitted Access Agreements and associated plans and returns successfully as a Further Education Corporation (FEC). In 2018, we transferred to the Higher Education (HE) sector and gained University title (having achieved Taught Degree Awarding Powers (TDAP) in 2017). Hartpury’s organisational structure evolved significantly, resulting in Hartpury College and Hartpury University, two specialist organisations, side-by-side on one campus with a shared mission and set of values. Hartpury University is therefore uniquely positioned to meet national priorities, and we remain agile and responsive to changes in performance where there is evidence of inequality. Inclusivity and widening access remains at the heart of what we do. We are proud of our history of successfully supporting students from non-traditional backgrounds in HE and currently 42% of our students are included within one or more of our target groups2. We are committed to being ‘inclusive in all we do’ (a strategic priority within the ‘Hartpury 2025’3 strategy). We recognise particular strengths associated with mature students and those disclosing disability and we champion all student achievements at Hartpury. As a relatively small HE institution (HEI) (circa. 1800 HE students), focused on specialist provision in Agriculture, Equine, Sport, Veterinary Nursing, and Animal, we have valued the opportunity to review and assess our performance as part of this exercise. Our analysis focuses on full-time undergraduate students, due to the low number of part time students enrolled at Hartpury, and predominantly uses data provided by Office for Students (OfS) dashboard unless otherwise stated.

It followed an invitation for expressions of interest in the role which closed on 19 September, and to which one body, the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) provided a submission. The consultation, published 19 October 2017, therefore explored the views of respondents on the suitability of HESA to fulfil the role of the DDB, and on the suitability of any other organisation which consultees wished to suggest, but which had not expressed an interest. The responses to this consultation received both digitally and informal written responses are now informing the OfS’s recommendation to the Secretary of State on designating a data body and decision-making and design in relation to its regulatory framework, which will be published by the end of March 2018. 3 Summary of responses received Overall there was overwhelming support for the HESA as a body that is credible and suitable to fulfil the role of the DDB.

    EM NATIONAL ASSEMBLY FOR WALES STATUTORY INSTRUMENTS 2004 No. (W. ) EDUCATION, WALES The Education (Listed Bodies) (Wales) Order 2004 EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Order) This Order lists the name of every body which is not a recognised body within section 216(4) of the Education Reform Act 1988 but which either— (a) provides any course which is in preparation for a degree to be granted by such a recognised body and is approved by or on behalf of that body; or (b) is a constituent college, school, hall or other institution of a university which is such a recognised body. Every university, college or other body that is authorised by Royal Charter or by or under Act of Parliament to grant degrees and every other body for the time being permitted by these bodies to act on their behalf in the granting of degrees, is a recognised body. The Order updates and replaces the list of bodies contained in the Education (Listed Bodies) (Wales) Order 2002, which is revoked. There are omitted from the Schedule to this Order a number of bodies previously within the list but which no longer provide courses that are approved by or on behalf of a recognised body. The Schedule includes a number of bodies that were not previously within the list but which now provide courses that are approved by or on behalf of a recognised body and incorporates other minor amendments and name changes. Summary of Policy Statement and Main Objectives This document sets out the support available to young people of Leicester entering or continuing with full-time Post 16 Education to encourage participation and prevent transport being a barrier to young learners. It provides the most up to date details of charges and means testing procedures. It gives advice on the support available to learners with learning/mobility difficulties to encourage independent travel to and from the place of learning. 2. Details of concessionary fares. Leicester City Council – provision for mainstream learners A bus pass costing £425 is available for Leicester resident pupils over statutory school age if they live more than 3 miles but less than 20 miles from the school/college attended, and if the student is aged 16, 17 or 18 at the start of the college year. The pass allows travel on both First and Arriva buses to get to school/college. There are alternatives to the Leicester City Council Bus Pass. If you only need to use a bus from one operator, you could get better value in terms of price and flexibility by purchasing a season ticket directly from a commercial bus operator. Before you apply for a Leicester City Council bus pass we strongly urge you to consider all of the commercially available alternatives. Most commercially available season tickets allow you to travel at any time and on any day including weekends.

    UCAS Council Members Biographies David Lowen Independent Governor and Chair of Leeds Beckett University and Deputy Chair of the Committee of University Chairs (CUC) UCAS Council Chair nominated by the CUC David is a television executive of wide experience and consultant adviser to broadcasters, programme makers and financial institutions. He was appointed Chair in December 2015 and is also Deputy Chair of the Committee of University Chairs (CUC), which plays a leading role in governance and regulation of the HE sector. He was board Director of Network Programme Development and later board Director of Corporate Development for ITV Yorkshire Television before leading ITV Network’s digital terrestrial television launch project, the first successful launch in the world.
