Auto Del Futuro Nella Motor Valley Dell’Emilia ECONERRE - L’auto del futuro nella Motor Valley dell’Emilia-Romagna Joint venture tra la cinese FAW e l’americana Silk EV per produrre auto di alta gamma full electric e plug-in nella Motor Valley Emilia-Romagna. Il designer sarà Walter De Silva. Incontro on line del presidente Bonaccini e dell’assessore Colla con le autorità cinesi e i numeri uno di FAW e di Silk EV Nella Motor Valley dell’Emilia-Romagna, il Gruppo cinese FAW, il più grande produttore di auto del Paese asiatico, e l’americana Silk EV, sono pronti a realizzare un progetto di investimento da un miliardo di euro per la nascita di un polo all’avanguardia dove progettare e produrre auto di alta gamma full electric e plug-in. Le due società hanno confermato l’investimento, con la firma di una joint venture per la progettazione, ingegnerizzazione e produzione delle nuove vetture nel cuore della Motor Valley. Saranno ideate e sviluppate in Emilia-Romagna, dove Silk EV ha la sua sede centrale, mentre la produzione su larga scala avverrà sia in terra emiliana che a Changchun, dove ha sede il quartier generale di FAW. L’annuncio è arrivato nel corso di un incontro istituzionale in video conferenza a cui hanno partecipato Stefano Bonaccini, governatore della Regione Emilia-Romagna, il presidente di FAW, Xu Liuping, e il presidente di Silk EV, Jonathan Krane. Con loro Vincenzo Colla, assessore regionale allo Sviluppo economico e Lavoro, i dirigenti di Silk EV e FAW, e diverse autorità cinesi, fra le quali il governatore della Provincia di Jilin, Jing Junhai, e Wang Kai, membro del Comitato del Partito centrale e segretario del Comitato comunale del Partito di Changchun. Non appena possibile, FAW e Silk EV sceglieranno insieme al presidente Bonaccini il luogo migliore dove realizzare il nuovo polo motoristico all’interno del territorio della Motor Valley. Durante l’incontro è stato inoltre annunciato che le due società hanno scelto il designer Walter De Silva come responsabile della nuova linea di vetture, che in Cina si legherà al brand Hongqi, mentre in Italia e nel resto del mondo il nome del marchio è ancora in via di definizione. Inoltre, Silk EV e FAW realizzeranno in Emilia-Romagna un futuristico centro di innovazione, completamente interconnesso, nonché impianti di produzione: si tratterà di un vero e proprio experience center all’interno della Motor Valley. In aggiunta, verrà realizzato anche un secondo centro di innovazione a Changchun che si concentrerà sulla produzione dei modelli S5 e S3. I numeri della Motor Valley La Motor Valley è un distretto industriale unico al mondo forte di 16.500 aziende e oltre 90mila addetti, con 16 miliardi di fatturato annuo e un export di 7 miliardi. Qui hanno radici e sede marchi noti in tutto il mondo: Automobili Lamborghini, Dallara, Ducati, Ferrari, Haas, Magneti Marelli, Maserati, Pagani e Toro Rosso. Bonaccini: “Nuova e buona occupazione, prodotti ad alto valore aggiunto e sostenibilità ambientale, in linea con il Patto per il Lavoro e il Clima” “Siamo di fronte a un progetto di straordinaria portata– afferma il presidente Bonaccini-. Il fatto che la scelta sia caduta sulla nostra Motor Valley, la sola a livello mondiale, ci riempie d’orgoglio e premia gli investimenti che abbiamo fatto in ogni ambito, puntando sulla qualità: le reti dell’alta formazione e dell’alta tecnologia che vedono insieme università e imprese, i saperi e le professionalità che qui si possono trovare, ricerca e sviluppo, la logistica, la qualità della vita stessa, così come la capacità di risposta e di fare sistema di istituzioni ed enti locali”. Un progetto che si inserisce perfettamente nel Green New Deal cui guarda l’Europa, che ha nella motorizzazione ibrida, elettrica e in prospettiva all’idrogeno, una delle proprie priorità. Uno sviluppo sostenibile verso il quale anche la nostra filiera dell’automotive ha deciso di andare. “Come Regione – aggiunge il presidente – abbiamo fatto nascere la Motorvehicle University of Emilia-Romagna (Muner), l’università internazionale dell’automotive che vede insieme le quattro università regionali e i marchi motoristici di questa terra noti in tutto il mondo, capace di chiamare ogni anno in Emilia-Romagna giovani studenti da ogni Paese, con diversi corsi di laurea internazionali, alcuni dedicati proprio allo sviluppo di motori ecologici. L’Emilia-Romagna– conclude Bonaccini– si pone una volta di più come un modello globale di sviluppo e di cooperazione: per la cooperazione internazionale fra le menti migliori, per le competenze e abilità coinvolte, in stretto rapporto con il sistema dell’istruzione della formazione e della ricerca. Occupazione di qualità, prodotti ad alto valore aggiunto e sostenibilità ambientale, in linea con gli obiettivi che ci siamo dati con tutte le parti sociali nel nuovo Patto per il Lavoro e per il Clima. Questa è la strada che vogliamo percorrere insieme per uscire dalla crisi e ripartire più forti di prima, per riprogettare il nostro futuro economico e sociale”. Xu Liuping (FAW): “Traguardo importante, un’opportunità per diventare il nuovo punto di riferimento nel segmento delle auto sportive elettriche”. A commento della partnership,Xu Liuping, Chairman e Party Secretary di FAW, spiega come che “nell’ambito dell’iniziativa Belt & Road, questa joint venture rappresenta un traguardo importante per l’industria automobilistica cinese, italiana e mondiale. Per FAW è un’occasione unica per posizionare con ancora maggior forza il marchio quale eccellenza automobilistica nella provincia di Jilin, culla dell’industria automobilistica cinese, e per avvicinarci alla Motor Valley italiana, ecosistema integrato e ingegnerizzato a livello globale, rinomato per il suo patrimonio automobilistico di auto di lusso e da corsa, nonché un’opportunità per diventare il nuovo punto di riferimento nel segmento delle auto sportive elettriche”. Le due aziende del progetto nella Motor Valley Silk EV è una società specializzata nell’ingegneria e nel design di auto che ha il suo quartier generale in Emilia-Romagna, la Motor Valley Italiana, e ulteriori sedi in Cina e negli Stati Uniti. Silk EV riunisce i maggiori esperti di progettazione e ingegneria automobilistica italiana e mondiale per costruire un marchio globale di veicoli a nuova energia (NEV) dalle prestazioni di livello mondiale che rappresentano l’apice dell’innovazione tecnologica, della connettività e dello stile. FAW Group Corporation (FAW), già China First Automobile Works, fu fondata il 15 luglio 1953, quando fu costruito il suo primo impianto di assemblaggio. FAW è uno dei più antichi e grandi produttori automobilistici cinesi, conta più di 130.000 dipendenti, un capitale sociale di 35,4 miliardi di RMB e un patrimonio totale di 457,83 miliardi di RMB. Changes in the Division of Labor in China Until the 1970s, China’s industries had followed a system which can be called a vertically divided division of labor. Under this system each enterprise within an industry generally specialized in producing a particular end product within a spe- cific narrow field, and each enterprise subsumed within itself all of the stages in the production process. In the machinery industry, for example, a firm manufacturing a particular machine would carry out the final assembly process as well as the upstream machining, casting, forging, and heat-treating processes. Figure 1 illus- trates the concept of the vertically divided division of labor as was found in the automobile manufacturing industry. An enterprise subsumed within itself all of those upstream-production stages encompassed by the solid line, but very often the firm produced only one particular end product. This division-of-labor system derives partly from the preconditions in China at the time the country began industrialization. The country’s preexisting industrial base was extremely weak, and there was little hope of procuring parts and compo- nents externally. In addition, the vertically divided division of labor reduced the uncertainties inherent in transactions among enterprises because only a small num- ber of enterprises became involved in the production process from the raw-materi- als stage to the final-assembly stage. As a result the system was seen as more suit- able for a planned economy.

    2018 International Conference on Economic Management Science and Financial Innovation (ICEMSFI 2018) ISBN: 978-1-60595-576-6 The Supplier System in Chinese Automobile Industry: The Case of FAW Volkswagen Meihui Zhao ABSTRACT Recently, the Chinese automobile industry has achieved remarkable progress. Both production and sales volumes in China have been rapidly increasing. Based on the overall auto sale volume in China, over 50 percent of production volume belongs to joint-venture manufacturers. In order to investigate competitive strategies of the Chinese automobile industry, the study of automobile companies and their supplier systems (SS) are necessary. In the current research, the joint venture manufacturer FAW VW Automobile Co. Ltd., (FAW VW), which is a leading automobile company with high performance in the Chinese market, is taken as an example. Through applying the comparative study methodology, as well as the investigation and analysis methods based on FAW-VW and its supplier system, the drawback of the current supplier system has been identified. The major implication of the proposed study is that inter-organizational relationships of FAW-VW and its suppliers are becoming stronger during the progress of solving problems while the development and production systems are still relying much on suppliers1. INTRODUCTION In the automobile assembly maker, approximately 20000 parts are assembled, and the ratio of material cost to manufacturing cost exceeds 70%. As automobile assembly manufacturers procure most of them from external parts suppliers, their competitiveness depends largely not on only their own development and production process management but also the purchasing control abilities. From its entry in the Chinese market to the year of 2009, VW enjoyed popularity, high reputation, and undisputed leadership in the Chinese passenger car market, and achieved a great commercial success. Most previous accounts attribute VW’s success in China to VW’s wise business operation or Chinese government’s support. This study guided by the methods and theories of technology studies, especially the actor- network theory (ANT), takes into account technical, socioeconomic, political, or cultural factors simultaneously. By selecting one of VW’s successful joint ventures with China – Shanghai Volkswagen (SVW) – as a case to do in-depth investigation, it examines the relationship between heterogeneous actors (both humans and nonhumans) and the pathways of SVW development, and has found that all of the SVW establishment, production, marketing, and development were shaped by a range of diverse social and material actors, including the central planners, local government, VW, local suppliers, Chinese consumers, and VW cars, and depended on Chinese particular political and cultural context; VW’s success in China presents a story of co-construction of power and actor-networks.
