Candace Cameron Bure began her acng career at 6 with guest roles on TV series, but she progressed quickly to a career-making role on Full House, where she played D.J. Tanner from 1987 – 1995. Her latest feature is a return to form, as she plays the tle character in Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Heist and Seek on Sunday May 17 on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel. She talked to Soaps.com about being “kick bu” as Aurora, yearning for a manicure, and the soap that kept her entertained for a decade.

Aurora Teagarden and Fuller House teasers Soaps.com: You’re making your 13th appearance as Aurora with Heist and Seek. What makes her so much fun to play? Candace Cameron Bure: I love Aurora because she’s got a lot of spunk and she’s a kick-bu kind of woman. She’s always two steps ahead of everyone. She also has a good team around her – but they’re always a lile more concerned for her safety than even she is, because she’s relentless. In every movie there’s a lile bit of stunt work because she always gets into a bale with a suspect or the actual killer, and I do 99 percent of the stuntwork myself. There’s a lot of me in her, and she has the drive I do.

Soaps.com: You’re also an execuve producer on the films. What did you hope to do differently with the role this me? Bure: It’s prey consistent, these films – they’re standalone movies, but you can watch them out of order. Soaps.com: Fuller House wraps aer its fih season on Nelix later this year. What made returning to that show so special? Bure: It’s been the biggest gi of my life to have another five seasons of Fuller House and to be back with my second family, these people I have grown up with and had friendships with for more than 30 years. It was sad to say goodbye. The new episodes release on June 2, and all I can say is have your ssues handy. There will be tears.

Soaps.com: Why do you think the audiences loved the Tanners of Full/Fuller House so much? Bure: It’s all about heart. That’s what it comes down to. This is a show that’s not a tradional family – it’s about the people who love you, who sck with you through good and tough mes. It’s a sitcom that’s wrapped in a prey bow in 30 minutes, but people love that. People who don’t come from homes like that – it gives them hope and they feel love. I hear a lot of children and parents say they get advice from the show on really simple topics. It gives them food for thought about how to handle their relaonships at home or how to make decisions based on the outcomes in Full House or Fuller House.

Days of our Lives fan for 10 years Soaps.com: Have you now, or have you ever been a soap opera fan? Bure: When my kids [Natasha, 21; Lev, 20; Maxsim, 18] were young, and I lived in Calgary – my husband [Valeri Bure] was playing hockey for the Calgary Flames – I would watch Days of our Lives every single day. I’d put them down for their naps and sit and watch my show. I watched for probably a good ten years. But now I barely watch TV at all!

Soaps.com: So might you one day want to appear on a soap? Bure: It’s not on my radar, but hey, never say never! Especially if there was a fun thing to do.

Bure: It’s going okay. Some days are tough, and I’m frustrated and antsy. Here in LA they just extended the quaranne through July. But as far as the big picture, I’m home with my husband and kids and we’re healthy and safe and that’s what’s important. I’m enjoying the family me I have and keeping up with work unl things open again.

Soaps.com: What’s the first thing you want to do once we’re all released? Bure: I want to get a manicure-pedicure so desperately. I’m champing at the bit to get to the nail salon. It’s all about self-care!
