Magna Grecia Magna Grecia, a Group 1 winner at two and three years, is by top class sire of sires, Invincible Spirit. Magna Grecia carries Sadler’s Wells and Lt Stevens via his dam, both members of the GOODY TWO SHOES family. Mares carrying individuals such as FAIRY KING (sire of ENCOSTA DE LAGO, FALBRAV, ADVENTUROUS, REVOQUE, HELISSIO, SHINKO KING and VICTORY NOTE), NUREYEV, NORTHERN METEOR and sons, LORENZACCIO, THATCH (and son THATCHING), TATE GALLERY, GEIGER COUNTER, YEATS, TOPSIDER, REFORM and OPEN DAY add to this strength. Sadler’s Wells’ son Galileo, damsire of Magna Grecia, is a half-brother to SEA THE STARS and closely related to KING’S BEST, whose daughters would appeal for Magna Grecia. Magna Grecia is a direct descendant of SELENE, who is also represented by Hyperion (8 lines) and Pharamond (3 lines) throughout his pedigree. Mares carrying fellow family members SIR TRISTRAM, MOSSBOROUGH, STAR WAY and OUR MAIZCAY will add to this well known family. SIR TRISTRAM is most easily sourced via his descendants LONHRO, ZABEEL, SAVABEEL, MARAUDING, OCTAGONAL, PIERRO, GROSVENOR, K AAPSTAD, TIERCE, MILITARY PLUME and IMPERIAL PRINCE. ZABEEL also carries Nureyev, so has additional attraction (see above paragraph). This also applies to Star Way, who is damsire of ENCOSTA DE LAGO, a son of Fairy King (see above). FRIZETTE family members Lomond, Mr Prospector and Djeddah (twice) can be reinforced by the inclusion of horses such as SEATTLE SLEW (a half-brother to Lomond), ARTIE SCHILLER, SING SING, BALDRIC II, ROAN ROCKET, TWENTY FOUR KARAT, GREGORIAN, FERDINAND, JET PILOT, MUKADDAMAH, and OMAN. More MR. PROSPECTOR is also desirable. Seattle Slew can be sourced through line representatives such as A P INDY (sire of BERNARDINI and grandsire of PULPIT), AIR DE FRANCE and CAPOTE. Seattle Slew can also be sourced via STATUE OF LIBERTY mares, as he has this influence as his damsire. Miswaki is present through daughter Urban Sea in Magna Grecia. His sons, including UMATILLA and BACHELOR DUKE, create a speed-producing sex balanced duplication of Miswaki. Magna Grecia carries three lines to ALMAHMOUD family member, Northern Dancer. Invincible Spirit and his sons have worked very well with more DANZIG, who is already present on Invincible Spirit’s sire line. Danzig and two lines to Rockefella in Invincible Spirit are LADY SUSAN family members. BLETCHINGLY, whose sons include CANNY LAD and HURRICANE SKY, is another family member and these three individuals (Danzig, Rockefella and Bletchingly) have a long history of affinity. ALMAHMOUD family members DANEHILL, HALO, MACHIEVLLIAN, AL SAMER, WAY OF LIGHT, EXIT TO NOWHERE, EL MOXIE, YOUTHFUL LEGS, DIATRIBE, ESPERERO, L’EMIGRANT, CANNONADE and ARCTIC TERN are other descendants to seek in mares. HALO can be sourced via mares by MORE THAN READY, FUJI KISEKI, DON’T SAY HALO, SUNDAY SILENCE and SEBRING. MACHIAVELLIAN is most easily sourced in Australia via his sons VETTORI and STREET CRY (sire of STREET BOSS, STREET SENSE, PER INCANTO etc). DANEHILL, an ALMAHMOUD family member whose grandsire Northern Dancer is another relation, is very easily sourced in the pedigrees of Australian mares. His son DANEHILL DANCER is the sire of Drumfire, the Group 3 winning half-brother to Magna Grecia’s dam. Danehill Dancer has additional attraction, as he is out of a Sharpen Up mare, creating a sex balanced duplication when meeting with Invincible Spirit, whose damsire Kris is a son of Sharpen Up. .
