BUG OUT BAG The ESSENTIAL SURVIVAL KIT

Knowledge is the key to survival. Having a good reference guide is an important part of your survival kit. Buy a good survival book and put it into your kit. It will be an invaluable resource to you and your family in the event of a disaster. *Adapted from The Family Guide to that Can Save Your Life and the Lives of Your Family by Alan Corson*

Priority One: This survival gear consists of the following items you will immediately need to have access to for your survival. All of this should fit nicely into a quality backpack Fire Starters & Lighters; Fire Steel; Waterproof ; Cotton Balls & Vaseline; Disinfection & Canteen Dryer Lint Life Straw; Sawyer Mini; Clorox Bleach; chemical tablets. (Pro Tip: Repurposed TicTac containers are great for water-tight storage) Aluminum water bottles are best – They can be used to boil water! (Pro Tip: Fill a contact lens solution bottle Reliable Tools with Bleach and add 2 drops to your water bottle. Shake well and enjoy!) – fixed blade and folding; Folding shovel or trowel; Crank (no batteries!); Whistle; Snare Wire – 22 gauge – 50’ roll; Rope or twine – 50’; Alcohol Include all current or hiking propane stove with medications!; Emergency fuel; 10x10 sheet of painter’s Blankets (one for each family plastic or tarp. member); First Aid manual (Pro Tip: Create an alcohol stove with a few strategic cuts to an aluminum beer bottle or (Pro Tip: Store bought first aid kits are perfect tuna can!) to start with and customize to suit your needs)
