The SARC contains information about the condition and performance of each California public school. Under the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) all local educational agencies (LEAs) are required to prepare a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), which describes how they intend to meet annual school-specific goals for all pupils, with specific activities to address state and local priorities. Ceres High is a place where: • technology is integrated across the curriculum and is used as a tool for improving student achievement. • staff and student interaction is positive and every individual is valued as part of the school community. • every person accepts responsibility to achieve his/her highest potential as evidenced by student assessment. • every person values and takes responsibility for clear communication which enhances collaboration and decision-making. Ceres High School is a comprehensive high school located in the city of Ceres and the county of Stanislaus, in the central San Joaquin valley. It is approximately 80 miles south of Sacramento and 95 miles east of San Francisco. Once an agriculturally based community with food processing and related businesses playing key roles, most jobs are now in manufacturing, retail trade and social services. The Ceres industrial area consists of 165 industrially zoned areas. Built in 1908, Ceres High School is one of two comprehensive high schools in the Ceres Unified School District. The district is also home to 13 elementary schools, 3 junior high schools, an alternative high school, a charter school and an adult education center. Housed on 47 acres, the campus and surrounding areas continue to undergo renovation. Until the 13/14 school year, enrollment remained steady at approximately 1400 students. In 13/14 and 14/15, we experienced an increase in enrollment and currently have 1670 students. The ethnic makeup of our student population is 69.3% Hispanic, 19.5% White, 6.5% Asian and 4.7% Other. The number of students considered socioeconomically disadvantaged has steadily increased over the past several years to 81%. Approximately 13.3% of the student population are English Learners and 9.9% are students with disablities. Staff at Ceres High School include 1 principal, 1 associate principal, 1 assistant principal, 5 learning directors, 1 administrative assistant, 1 activities director, 1 athletic director, .6 school psychologist, .8 school nurse, and 1 resource officer. There are currently 72 certificated teachers and 58 classified employees, which include food servers, campus supervisors, custodians, maintenance, groundskeeper, instructional paraprofessionals, and clerical staff. We are dedicated to giving our students the ultimate educational experience. We offer rigorous courses that prepare our students for college, as well as a multitude of co- and extra-curricular opportunities that wil help our students reach academic excellence and become responsible citizens of our community. Support is offered to all students through a variety of services: academic tutoring; counseling provided through school personnel and the Center of Human Services; mentoring provided through the Manufacturing Academy Business Partners, school personnel, and Youth for Christ volunteers; and CAHSEE remediation provided through highly qualified school personnel. To help CHS reach our goals of academic success for all students, there are a variety of supplemental funding sources from which we draw: Title I, Carl Perkins Vocational and Applied Technology, LCAP, California Partner Academy Grant, and many parent groups including Athletic Boosters and Band Boosters. In addition, CHS has several committees in which parents and community members are vital participants: School Site Council, English Learner Advisory Committee, Advisory Committees for Career Technical Education and Agriculture, and Manufacturing Technology Advisory Committee. Ceres High School underwent a WASC Accreditation Visit in 2011-12 and was awarded a 6 year term with a mid-term review. The mid-term review will occur in March 2014 . Quality, Currency, Availability of Textbooks and Instructional Materials (School Year 2014-15) Year and month in which data were collected: 12/14 Each year the Ceres Unified School District Board of Trustees holds a public hearing to comply with the requirements of Education Code 60119, which ensures the sufficiency of instructional materials in the school district. In addition, within 8 weeks of the start of school the Board of Trustees holds a public hearing to make a determination through a resolution that every student has sufficient textbooks or instructional materials in the four core subjects of reading/language arts, mathematics, science, and history-social science. This public hearing is held to satisfy the requirements under the Williams Act. All core courses utilize standards aligned, district adoped textbooks. All textbooks in elective courses have gone through the district textbook adoption process, which includes a committee comprised of teachers,
