Nov. 2017 The Combined Events When an athlete has finished his Combined Event, he has achieved something special - it makes no difference if this was a Throwing Pentathlon, normal Pentathlon, Heptathlon (Women Masters) or the Kings event, the Decathlon. "King of the Athletes" or "King of the Stadium", this phrase holds in itself the Honour to all the athletes, who have accomplished a Repertoir of Performances during many hours, even in some cases during two days. Certainly, all Decathletes, which disposes of all the technical abilities and the physical body fitness, get a real feeling of satisfaction when they succesfully end their challenge. After all, they live in a 2 days "Non Stop Action". During that time they are challenged up to the highest limits, as well physically as mentally. Or you could say, they challenge themselves. But from a certain age, it is getting more difficult for athletes to live up to their own expectations. The older one gets, the more recent perform ances differ from past personal records. This is the basis to establish the Age Factors. They take into account the performance reduction due to old age, and bring these recent performances as an elderly up to the former regular standard performances that were accomplishedas a youngster. Requirements of the IAAF: I. If we carry out comparisons in the Combined Events, this must be guaranteed according to the specifications of the IAAF. Why we have them? The guidelines of the IAAF: a.) - The wind conditions at Sprint, hurdles, jump (wide and three) and more battles must be present - Without specifying any recognition of records. -

To confirm that, in light of the fact that you may need to respond swiftly to issues that arise on site on Monday (notably potential minor remedial work needed to avoid further substantive delays to the agreed timeline for site investigations), we are content to authorise SEPA to increase spend by up to a maximum additional £7.5K over and above previously authorised spend. Such spend would only be utilised to address minor work needed to repair pipes and/or move some additional leachate before substantive site survey work can progress, if you consider that additional work is business critical to avoid substantive delay. I have discussed and agreed this with (Redacted) . If total projected additional costs exceed £7.5K then please do not proceed without further direct discussion. We do not currently have any scope to release any additional funding so our assumption is SEPA will be able to deliver the work within the refreshed envelopes. As noted, if site investigations indicate more substantive concerns then we can regroup and review SEPA’s future approach. I trust this provides you with sufficient flexibility to be able to respond speedily to issues that arise on Monday and to take any immediate decisions that are required. -

Scottish Indoor Championships 1 INTRODUCTION The first Scottish indoor championships were held at the Bell’s Sports Centre in Perth on 24 March 1972 with events for male athletes only. A year later, the championships were held for both men and women. The championships, held on Perth’s 154-metre track, were held for 5 years before falling into abeyance. During that time, the championships saw the emergence of future Olympic gold medallist Allan Wells, a Scottish title winner in 1974 – not in the 60 metres, but in the long jump. After a 10-year absence, the championships returned in 1987, held on a portable track erected at the Ingliston Exhibition Centre in Edinburgh. With the opening of an international standard 200 metres track at the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow later that year, the championships found a new home and were Gillian Cooke, winner of 17 medals - photo by Bobby Gavin held annually at the new venue from 1988 to 2012. The Kelvin Hall arena changed indoor athletics in Scotland, attracting the first British international match (v France) on 6 February 1988 and staging the European Indoor Championships in 1990. The venue was able to attract top British athletes to the Scottish Championships, with athletes of the calibre of Jonathan Edwards & Sally Gunnell (1989), Linford Christie (1990 and 1994), Katharine Merry (1992- 1994) and Colin Jackson (1997) among those who made the trip north to win Scottish titles. -
