The conference returned UMass Lowell captured its third Northeast-10 Conference to 10 teams in 1996-97 with the addition of Le Moyne College and Tournament championship in eight years in 2010. As the then expanded to 11 in 1997-98 with the inclusion of Pace Univer- No. 7 seed, the River Hawks defeated No. 10 Assumption sity. In 1998-99, the conference reverted to 10 schools when Quin- (91-79), No. 2 Bentley (76-63), No. 3 Merrimack (80-70) and nipiac shifted its programs to Division I. No. 9 Adelphi (73-58) in the championship game. The NE-10 expanded to 15 institutions beginning with the 2000-01 academic year.
