Journey Doors ® JOURNEY OF DOORS PASSPORT Experience Northern Ireland Game of Thrones® territory and discover the Doors which tell the story of Season 6. As you visit each door use this souvenir passport to collect your 10 unique stamps. The Dark Hedges is a beautiful avenue of eighteenth century beech trees that were planted by the Stuart family to impress visitors as they approached the entrance to the Stuart residence, Gracehill House. Over two centuries later both the house and the stunning trees remain. Used as a backdrop for Kingsroad they have now become an iconic site. In January 2016 a storm swept the island bringing down some of these famous trees. The wood from the fallen trees was salvaged and transformed into unique works of art in the form of 10 intricately crafted doors. Using iconic symbols and key scenes from the show, the doors work together to tell the tale of Season 6. The craftsmanship used to carve these doors is almost as breathtaking as Game of Thrones® itself (almost!). With the culmination of Season 6 the doors have formed a Game of Thrones® trail connecting 10 pubs and restaurants with filming locations across Northern Ireland – so if you come across a door, you’ll know you’re in Game of Thrones ® territory. To help you navigate your way around Northern Ireland to the 10 doors and the accessible filming locations from the show, download the Game of Thrones® Filming Locations Northern Ireland app, available for Apple and Android. ABSTRACT RACIALIZATION, FEMININITY, MOTHERHOOD AND THE IRON THRONE GAME OF THRONES A HIGH FANTASY REJECTION OF WOMEN OF COLOR This analysis dissects the historic preconceptions by which American television has erased and evaded race and racialized gender, sexuality and class distinctions within high fantasy fiction by dissociation, systemic neglect and negating artistic responsibility, much like American social reality. This investigation of high fantasy creative fiction alongside its historically inherited framework of hierarchal violent oppressions sets a tone through racialized caste, fetishized gender and sexuality. With the cult classic television series, Game of Thrones (2011-2019) as example, portrayals of white and nonwhite racial patterns as they define womanhood and motherhood are dichotomized through a new visual culture critical lens called the Colonizers Template. This methodological evaluation is addressed through a three-pronged specified study of influential areas: the creators of Game of Thrones as high fantasy creative contributors, the context of Game of Thrones

IntroductionI Step into Ballymena's past with self-guided Churchyard Trails The Ballymena area is dotted with a diverse range of churchyards reflecting the fluid and constantly evolving nature of religious sites from the late 400s onwards. Each site offers a different experience and has its own unique story to tell within the wider history of the area. This booklet features two distinct trails. Pre-Reformation Trail The Pre-Reformation Trail explores the history of some of the oldest remaining traces of built heritage in the area. It highlights sites that have been used for Christian worship from the time of St Patrick and before the formation of the Protestant faith in the early 1500s. Covenanter Trail The Covenanter Trail delves into the distinctive history and associated sites of the 'Covenanters', or Reformed Presbyterian Church, in the local area. Covenanters were named after the National Covenant and the Solemn League and Covenant signed in Scotland in the mid 1600s. In 1644 the Solemn League and Covenant was brought to Ireland and signed in 26 places across Ulster, including Ballymena. These documents declared Presbyterianism to be the only true form of church government and insisted that the King should have no authority over the church.
