Av hele den voksne befolkningen i regionen er det hele 27% som kjenner til OAM, langt større andeler enn de to andre regionale arkivene, fylkesarkivet i Oppland (8%) og Statsarkivet på Hamar (7%). I denne arkivinteresserte delen av befolkningen er det identifisert ytterligere tre undergrupper (arkivbyggerne, det bevisste publikum og det tilfeldige publikum). Kunnskap om disse er viktig for OAMs kommunika- sjon med gruppene, da deres motiver for å bruke/følge OAM vil være forskjellige. Ett interessant funn er at de mest aktive og bevisste brukerne/følgerne er høyt utdannet, jobber i akademiske yrker og er aktive i samfunnslivet generelt i langt større grad enn den jevne befolkningen. The region has rich literary traditions and holds a leading position nationally. The Norwegian festival of literature, the Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences, Lillehammer Museum/the homes of Bjørnson and Undset, The Nansen Academy, the municipal and literary organi- zations all collaborate in a number of areas. Following the 1994 Winter Olympics, a strong event and activity profile was established and the city is the annual host of large- scale international programmes within the fields of culture, sports, peace advocacy and the travel industry. THE NORWEGIAN FESTIVAL OF LITERATURE The Norwegian Festival of Literature is the largest literature festival in the Nordic region and is ranked as one of the 20 best literature festivals in the world (Penguin Random House, The Writers’ Academy 2017). The festival, which lasts for six days, features some 400 authors and artists from the entire world and attracts more than 25,000 visitors. It is the year’s most important meeting place for literary Norway. The festival is international and visitors have included Herta Müller, Ngugi wa Thiong’o, Zadie Smith, William T. Vollmann, Margaret Atwood, Karl Ove Knausgård, Adonis, Ko Un, J. M. Coetzee and Svetlana Aleksijevitsj. Dinner and overnight at the Scandic Hotel Hamar. Day 3 - Tuesday, June 21 - HAMAR Breakfast. Morning visit to the home of the world famous soprano, Kirsten Flagstad. View the famous Olympic Ice Hall with its unique design constructed for the 1994 Winter Olympics. Visit the Emigrant Museum and the church which was moved from Houston, MN. Lunch with lecture by the museum’s director, Knut Djupedal. Continue to the Glass Cathedral. Opened in 1988 with its special construction of glass and steel, it is an architectural and technological masterpiece. The building’s primary function is to protect the cathedral ruins, which is one of Norway’s foremost cultural landmarks from the Middle Ages. Drive to Gjøvik. At 5:30pm depart on the world’s oldest paddlesteamer, Skibladner, which has been plying the waters of Norway’s largest lake, Lake Mjøsa, since 1856. Dinner on board includes Skibladner’s traditional salmon with strawberries and cream for dessert. Arrive Hamar at 6:45pm. Transfer to hotel. Overnight at Scandic Hotel Hamar.
