COURSES TAUGHT

BUAD 710 This course focuses on the management of ethical conduct and social responsibility in business organizations. Students learn to apply decision-making tools to ethical dilemmas from three perspectives: as an individual actor, as a manager, and as a senior executive. Learning occurs through assigned readings, audiovisual presentations, discussions, in-class case discussions, and written assignments.

INTA 601 Leadership and Public Administration: Course designed to help students understand the complexity of leadership and how to apply leadership in international affairs. This course provides the knowledge base for developing a deep understanding of the study of leadership and is built on the conceptual foundation provided by the Bush School’s definitions of leadership and leader development.

BUSN 101 Freshman Business Initiative: Introduction to business and Mays Business School. The course focuses on the development of personal and professional competencies with emphasis on self- leadership, business communication, ethical decision-making and teamwork.

BUSN 205 Integrated Work life Competencies: Course to provide a challenging and supportive environment in which Mays business students learn how to communicate effectively, act ethically and work productively with others in a globally sensitive environment.

BUSN 302 Coffeehouse Conversations: Course in which student’s research, present and discuss multiple perspectives of current events in the US and the world. Students are challenged to identify assumptions and biases present in their perspectives. After experiencing cognitive dissonance, students are encouraged to develop capacity and skills to promote civil dialogue on controversial topics.

BUSN 302 Global Leadership: Learning community focuses on developing personal and business competencies necessary for success in professional careers in a global business environment. The course is specifically designed to assist first-generation, low income students in their transition to the college of business.

IBUS 460 International Business: Multi-disciplinary practical and theoretical orientation to international business and cultural issues to prepare highly-selected Texas A&M students for the global marketplace.

ALED 485 5-week International Interdisciplinary Agricultural Study Abroad to Tunisia, North Africa

ALED 340 Professional Leadership Development: Identification of styles and roles of leadership; development of leadership techniques and skills required in working with organizations and youth groups; methods of resolving conflict, communicating, guiding and evaluating; ethical consideration for leaders

ALED 481 Senior Seminar: Review of current literature and research as related to program development in light of legislation and policies affecting leadership, the broader fields of agriculture and life sciences and issues critical to the future of agriculture. Prerequisite: Senior classification.

ALED 494 Internship in Agriculture Development: Internship and independent study related to student’s professional interest

ALED 341 Team Learning: Course built on foundation of team development theory which emphasizes research on team member behaviors, team decision making models and positive conflict in team environments. In teams of four, students were assigned real-life semester-long consultancy functions.

ALED 681 Graduate Seminar in International Leadership: Course facilitated for group study discussion of current developments in the global agriculture industry. The course was designed to study the implications of agricultural research and legislation as they affect programs in teacher education, agricultural science and related areas of agriculture.
