Johnson Managing Principal, Omaha Office Presented by Rick Virgin Vice President, University Relations LEO A DALY, founded in 1915 by Creighton University graduate Leo A. Daly Sr., BA’11, is an internationally recognized, award-winning architecture, engineering, planning, interior design and program management firm, headquartered in Omaha. LEO A DALY is ranked among the top design firms in the world. LEO A DALY has completed projects in more than 87 countries, all 50 states and the District of Columbia and is staffed with teams of architects, engineers, planners and interior designers who are located around the world in 30 offices. Its work includes hospitals, museums, convention centers, hotels, airport terminals, distribution and manufacturing facilities, and corporate and federal office buildings. The firm has won numerous awards, and led design and construction of the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. LEO A DALY has a long, generous history of service to Creighton University. The firm helped design the pedestrian mall and the iconic plaza outside St. John’s Church, and provided architectural services for the south-facing art deco façade on the Administration Building (now Creighton Hall) and the Health Sciences Library, among other projects. Through outreach, fundraising, educational programs and pro-bono work, LEO A DALY works to provide service to enrich the communities it serves. Leo A. Daly III is the third generation of his family to lead the firm. He has served as chairman and CEO since 1981, expanding the company’s global presence and broadening its services. He and his wife, Grega established the Grega and Leo A. Daly III Fund for Architectural Books, which has allowed the National Gallery of Art Library in Washington, D.C., to expand its holdings of books in all areas of architectural studies. Leo A. Daly Jr., ARTS’39, who served as the firm’s president and CEO from the 1950s to the 1970s, was presented with Creighton University’s first Manresa Medal in 1974. The award is the highest nonacademic honor bestowed by the University and recognizes individuals who demonstrate inspirational leadership and enduring achievements in the tradition of St. Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits. Mr. Daly’s wife, Rosemary C. Gaughan Daly, BSC’39, also was active in civic, educational and charitable endeavors. Both served on Creighton’s board of directors. In recognition of its history of service and inspirational leadership, Creighton University proudly presents the Presidential Medallion to LEO A DALY. 5 CANDIDATES FOR EARNED DEGREES COLLEGE OF NURSING Marie Elizabeth Darabaris - magna cum laude Gabriella Mariella Jude - magna cum laude Englewood, Colorado Maple Lake, Minnesota Names read by: Mary V.
