Wareham, BSPHA’64 Since his graduation from the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions in 1964, John “Jack” Wareham has carried the credo of Creighton University into the world. A humble man who embodies the principles of a Jesuit education, his scholarship and support of academics, research and service have touched many lives. Professional excellence, fostering leadership and advancing knowledge are key components of Wareham’s practices. Dean Chris Bradberry has stated that Wareham exemplifies the highest ideals of the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions. He is a loyal supporter of his alma mater and of young and upcoming researchers in the pharmaceutical sciences and clinical translational research in pharmacy. With his wife, Lois, the Warehams created the Jack and Lois Wareham Research Award that is focused on seeding significant and innovative research. Upon his graduation from Creighton, Wareham began his professional career as a pharmacist in the family business and credits his father as a major influence both personally and professionally. He earned his Master of Business Administration from Washington University and in 1968 joined the SmithKline Corporation in Philadelphia, where he swiftly rose to executive positions. His professional background reflects significant executive and operational experience, and he was widely known for his friendly and gracious leadership. In 1984, Wareham joined Beckman Inc. as group vice president; in 1993, he was named president of Beckman Instruments and named CEO in 1998. Wareham maintained an illustrious career and fulfilling work-life balance until his retirement in 2005. Wareham has served on a number of boards and with various professional organizations. He is a member of Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit honor society and in 1997 received the Creighton University Alumni Achievement Citation for service to his community. For his distinguished accomplishments, for his leadership in the biomedical industry and for his efforts to advance and improve health care, Creighton University is proud to confer upon Dr. John “Jack” Wareham the degree Doctor of Pharmacy, honoris causa. 5 Candidates for Earned Degrees COLLEGE OF NURSING Names read by Mary Kunes-Connell, PhD, RN, Associate Dean BACHELOR OF SCIENCE Andrea M. REVITALIZING THE STREET OF DREAMS: A NORTH 24TH STREET CASE STUDY University Honors Program Thesis University of Nebraska at Omaha Submitted by Tiffany Hunter May 2019 Advisor: David Beberwyk ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to analyze the North 24th Street corridor in Omaha, Nebraska, to highlight the benefits of investing in commercial real estate development, propose tools for financing new development or redevelopment projects, and to suggest methods of building a coherent development plan to avoid gentrification. Commercial development provides the following: quality business space, accessible jobs for an underemployed populace, additional tax revenue, and a reduction in community detriments such as crime, empty lots, and low property values. The North 24th Street corridor has economic potential, as it is less than one mile from downtown Omaha, the core of the city.

May 31, 2018 The Honorable Henry Kerner Special Counsel Office of Special Counsel 1730 M Street, N.W. Suite 218 Washington, D.C. 20036-4505 Re: Violation of the Hatch Act by Lynne Patton Dear Mr. Kerner: Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (“CREW”) respectfully requests that the Office of Special Counsel (“OSC”) investigate whether Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”) Regional Administrator Lynne M. Patton violated the Hatch Act by using her official social media account to “like” tweets posted by the Republican National Committee (“RNC”), RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, and President Donald J. Trump. These tweets were directed toward the success or failure of candidates in partisan races in West Virginia and Florida, and toward the success and failure of the Republican and Democratic political parties. By “liking” the posts on a Twitter account that refers to her official position, Ms. Patton likely engaged in political activity prohibited by law. Factual Background Ms. Patton was appointed HUD Regional Administrator for Region II on June 26, 2017, after previously serving as Senior Advisor and Director of Public Engagement for HUD Secretary Ben Carson.1 As HUD Regional Administrator for Region II, Ms. Patton is responsible for administering HUD’s programs and operations in New York and New Jersey.2 Since she was appointed Regional Administrator, Ms. Patton has “liked” several tweets of a partisan nature while using her official @LynnePattonHUD Twitter account. @LynnePattonHUD Twitter Account There is little doubt that the @LynnePattonHUD Twitter account is used by Ms. Patton for official government purposes. The official agency acronym “HUD” is referenced multiple times in the account, including in its name, and the account profile states that Ms.
