DIRECTIONS From Plymouth follow the A386 northwards passing out of the City onto Roborough Down and bear left as signposted to Bere Alston. Follow this road passing across the crossroads at the corner entrance to Buckland Abbey, proceeding towards Buckland Monachorum. Turn left in the direction of Denham Bridge. Follow the road over Denham Bridge rising steeply up to eventually reaching the main road just outside Bere Alston. Turn left and continue into Bere Alston and shortly a sign to the left directs to Weir Quay. Follow this sign which leads through the periphery of the village and eventually passing over a small railway bridge. Turn left again to Weir Quay and follow the road down to the hamlet. Take the turning to the left, about 100 yds up the hill from the phone box, and turn left again. There are house signs for Cleave Place and Cleavelands but not Cleave Cottage.
