Feldman, PhD, RN, FAAN, is professor and Dean of the Lien- hard School of Nursing at Pace University (1993–Present) and Interim Dean of the Pace University School of Education (2006–2008). Dr. Feld- man has held administrative, teaching, and clinical positions for more than 40 years. She was also editor of two nursing journals; Scholarly In- quiry for Nursing Practice: An International Journal and Nursing Leadership Forum. Three of her books have received American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year Awards: 2001 (Nurses in the Political Arena: The Public Face of Nursing, co-authored with Dr. Sandra B. Lewenson), 2005 (Edu- cating Nurses for Leadership, co-edited with Dr. Martha J. Greenberg), and 2007 (Teaching and Learning Evidence-Based Practice: A Guide for Educators, co-edited with Dr. Rona F. Levin). Other books by Dr. Feldman include Strategies for Nursing Leadership (2001), Nursing Leaders Speak Out (2001), and The Nursing Shortage: Strategies for Recruitment and Retention in Clin- ical Practice and Education (2003). She has more than 80 refereed journal articles and editorials to her credit. Dr. Feldman holds the following ap- pointments: Chair (Vice Chair, 2007) of the Board of Commissioners of the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and member of the Health Advisory Committee to Representative Nita Lowey. She is a Fel- low of the American Academy of Nursing and a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine. Marilyn Jaffe-Ruiz, EdD, RN, is professor of nursing at the Lienhard School of Nursing, Pace University, New York City, New York. Her areas xiv Editors’ Bios of specialization include leadership, education, psychiatric mental health nursing, cultural competence, and siblings and families of the intellectu- ally disabled. Background. In Executive Order 13934 of July 3, 2020 (Building and Rebuilding Monuments to American Heroes), I made it the policy of the United States to establish a statuary park named the National Garden of American Heroes (National Garden). To begin the process of building this new monument to our country’s greatness, I established the Interagency Task Force for Building and Rebuilding Monuments to American Heroes (Task Force) and directed its members to plan for construction of the National Garden. The Task Force has advised me it has completed the first phase of its work and is prepared to move forward. This order revises Executive Order 13934 and provides additional direction for the Task Force. Sec. 2. Purpose. The chronicles of our history show that America is a land of heroes. As I announced during my address at Mount Rushmore, the gates of a beautiful new garden will soon open to the public where the legends of America’s past will be remembered. The National Garden will be built to reflect the awesome splendor of our country’s timeless exceptionalism. I do not pretend for a moment that [it] is my work... Of course, most of the work is just the good nursing.' When British physician Cicely Saunders wrote those words to a colleague, she was in the process of blending the religious roots of hospice with an academic model of clinical research on pain control for terminally ill cancer patients at St. Joseph's Hospice in London. In preparation for building St. Christopher's, a hospice of her own, she wrote a series of letters to physicians in the United States to learn more about how Americans cared for terminally ill cancer patients.

The program included:(1) the consecutive concentrated study of five individual cultures and (2) a comparative multicultural approach built around five basic themes.
