A Boonton resident for over 40 years, Mr. Ammann was a Swiss-American Civil Engineer whose bridge designs include the George Washington Bridge, Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, and Bayonne Bridge. He also directed the planning and construction of New York City's Lincoln Tunnel. All are welcome, free admission & refreshments.

The Boonton Elks will be holding a 150th celebration on Saturday, November 4th. The cocktail hour begins at 6 PM with dinner at 7

Dr. Edward Marlatt, past President of the Boonton Historical Society & Museum and native Boontonian, will give a presentation and discussion of the Civil Engineer and master bridge builder Othmar Amman (1879-1965), who designed and erected six major bridges in New York City: George Washington, Bayonne, Tri-borough, Bronx-Whitestone, Throgs Neck, and Verrazano-Narrows.
Mr. Ammann was a resident of Boonton for almost 40 years, and the new reservoir bridge connecting Boonton to Parsippany bears his name.
The program will include Boonton Trivia & Tales, a segment about memorable people and events of the town.
