Buses - Peacehaven - Newhaven/Seaford 16 Portslade Station - Knoll Service 16 will have a more flexible route, which will link more of 29.04.19 Estate – Hangleton Valley Hangleton with anywhere in South Portslade (including the Health Funded by Drive & Hangleton Centre). Brighton & Hove City Council There will be fixed departure points at each end of the route – and on the section between Knoll Estate and The Grenadier (West Way). Buses will pick up and drop off on demand at any other bus stop in Hangleton.

The early morning commuter journey from Hangleton & Knoll to Portslade will have the same fixed stops as the current service and will be numbered 16A

There will also be a fixed-route 16A morning school-time journey from Portslade and Knoll to School.

New service 16B will provide an afternoon link from West Blatchington School to Downs Park and Mile Oak.

Buses will also divert via Whitehawk Way, Swanborough Drive, Vines Cross Road, Wilson Avenue – and Bristol Estate (Belle Vue Gardens, Walpole Road, Road, Donald Hall Road, Manor Road, Church Place) if required by passengers on the bus.

23 Brighton Marina - County Major timetable changes. During university vacations, the off-peak frequency between Old Steine and Universities will be improved from every 15 minutes to every 12 minutes and there will be changes to the peak-time timetable.

25X Portslade - Hove - City Minor timetable changes during term time. Brighton & Hove 28.04.19 Centre - Lewes Road - Buses Universities - Falmer Station During university vacations there will a reduction in peak-time journeys (limited stop) and the off-peak frequency will reduce from every 9 minutes to every 12 minutes. 28 City Centre - Sussex On Mondays to Fridays, journeys from Malling (Church Lane) at 5.46am Brighton & Hove 29.04.19 University - Lewes – Ringmer and 6.38am will be extended to start from Barn Rise (at 5.45am and Buses - Uckfield 6.37am).

In the afternoon and early evening on Mondays to Saturdays, there will be changes to the timetable. Buses will be given more time to complete their journeys, to improve reliability.

Funded by Centre – Brighton Station - Brighton & Hove Hanover & Queens Park - Clock Tower stop N in Queens Road will become the new stop for all City Council Lewes Road - Meadowview buses serving Kemp Town (St Georges Road). Service 37B will no longer serve stop K opposite Imperial Arcade in Dyke Road or stop M at the top of North Street.

This is because of delays in Hartington Road caused by obstructive parking at school times. 46 Hollingbury - Ditchling Road - Buses towards Hollingbury will serve stop B in North Street, instead of Brighton & Hove 16.09.18 City Centre - Hove - stop A. Buses Portslade - Southwick 47 East Saltdean – Saltdean – Service 47 will be extended to Seven Dials, Old Shoreham Road, Knoll The Big Lemon 29.04.19 Rottingdean – Brighton Estate, Hangleton Grenadier, Hangleton Valley Drive and West Hove Funded by Marina – County Hospital - Sainsbury’s (Benfield Valley). This extension will replace parts of services Brighton & Hove City Centre – Brighton 56 and 66. City Council Station Saltdean will benefit from a regular, hourly direct service to Brighton Marina, the County Hospital and Kemp Town (currently alternate journeys run via as service 57).

The extended route will offer many new cross-city links, such as:  Saltdean, Rottingdean and Kemp Town to Old Shoreham Road retail parks, , Hangleton and West Hove Sainsbury’s

Service 47 will continue to run hourly, Monday to Saturday, from 7am to 7pm.

A journey numbered 47A will replace the existing 56E schoolday journey from Old Steine to Blatchington Mill and Hove Park schools.

48 Lower - Lewes Buses from Churchill Square will no longer serve stop A at the bottom of Brighton & Hove 28.04.19 Road - City Centre - Brighton North Street. They will instead serve stop M, just below the Clock Tower, Buses Station before continuing to Old Steine stop F. 49 East - Lewes Buses from Churchill Square will no longer serve stop A at the bottom of Brighton & Hove 28.04.19 Road - London Road Shops - North Street. They will instead serve stop M, just below the Clock Tower, Buses City Centre - Portslade before continuing to Old Steine stop F. Station 50 City Centre - London Road - Timetable changes on Mondays to Fridays, but frequency maintained - Brighton & Hove 28.04.19 Ditchling Road - although the change from every 12 minutes to every 15 minutes will start Buses at 1pm (currently 2pm) towards Hollingdean.

Buses towards Hollingdean will serve stop B in North Street, instead of stop A. 50U City Centre - London Road - Major timetable changes. The frequency will reduce from every 30 Brighton & Hove 29.04.19 Ditchling Road - Hollingdean minutes to hourly, with buses timed to coincide with lecture start and Buses – University of Sussex finish times. (Northfield Crescent) The frequency between the city centre and Hollingdean will not be affected, as withdrawn service 50U journeys will be replaced by service 50 journeys.

Buses towards Hollingdean will serve stop B in North Street, instead of stop A. 52 Woodingdean – Ovingdean – Service 52 will be extended to London Road Shops, Fiveways, Hollingbury The Big Lemon 29.04.19 Brighton Marina – County and Patcham. This extension will replace part of service 56. Funded by Hospital – Kemp Town - City Brighton & Hove Centre – Brighton Station Woodingdean and Ovingdean will benefit from an improved hourly link City Council through to the Old Steine throughout the day, plus additional journeys at peak times. At peak times all buses will run via Brighton Station.

On schooldays, the extra morning peak journey from Woodingdean and Ovingdean will be numbered 52A and, after serving Brighton Station, will operate to Blatchington Mill and Hove Park Schools.

Service 52 will run Monday to Saturday, as now.

Please see attached timetable for more details. 55 Mile Oak - Hangleton - Seven Journeys towards Hollingbury will serve Churchill Square stop E in Brighton & Hove 29.04.19 Dials - City Centre - Preston Western Road (instead of stop K in Dyke Road) – and North Street stop B Buses Circus – Hollingbury instead of stop A. (Monday to Friday peak times only) 56 Patcham - Hollingbury - Service 56 will be replaced as follows: The Big Lemon 29.04.19 Fiveways - Preston Circus - Funded by City Centre - Seven Dials - Between the city centre and Patcham the service will be provided by Brighton & Hove Knoll Estate new extended route 52. Buses will run more frequently (every hour City Council instead of every 75 minutes), including more journeys at peak times.

In the city centre, buses will serve Old Steine and St James’s Street or Sea Life Centre. At peak times all service 52 buses will also serve the Clock Tower and Brighton Station.

as:  Hollingbury, Patcham and Fiveways to Royal Sussex County Hospital and Brighton Marina

For the foreseeable future buses will be unable to serve Friar Road, because of ongoing traffic issues. Service 52 will instead use Surrenden Road between Ditchling Road and Beechwood Avenue.

Between the city centre and Knoll Estate the service will be provided by new extended route 47. Buses will run more frequently (every hour instead of every 75 minutes), including more journeys at peak times.

All service 47 buses will link Knoll Estate and Old Shoreham Road with Brighton Station throughout the day (instead of Dyke Road/Homelees House).

Extended replacement route 47 will offer many new cross-city links, such as: • Knoll Estate and Old Shoreham Road to Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton Marina, Rottingdean and Saltdean Lido  Seven Dials and Old Shoreham Road to West Hove Sainsbury’s

Please see attached timetables for services 47 and 52 for more details. 56E Brighton Station - Seven The 56E journey will be replaced by a journey on service 47A, following a The Big Lemon 29.04.19 Dials - Blatchington Mill similar route and at the same times as now. - Marina - Ovingdean - 47 journeys. This means that the weekday direct link between Saltdean, Funded by Rottingdean - Saltdean – Rottingdean and Ovingdean will be discontinued. The link can still be Brighton & Hove East Saltdean made by changing buses at Ovingdean Gap (Greenways) - or at the City Council bottom of Cowley Drive if travelling to and from Rottingdean.

There is no change to Sunday and bank holiday service 57, except that all journeys towards Brighton Station will operate via Dyke Road and Seven Dials. 59 Steyning/Shoreham Beach - No change Brighton & Hove Old Shoreham Road - Seven Buses Dials - City Centre (Monday to Friday peak times only) 59A Shoreham - Old Shoreham No change Brighton & Hove Road - Cardinal Newman Buses School (schooldays only) 60 Steyning - Shoreham - No change Brighton & Hove Southwick - Portslade - Hove Buses - City Centre (Monday to Friday peak times only) 66 Portslade - Knoll Estate - Service 66 will be replaced by new extended service 47 and by service 16. The Big Lemon 29.04.19 Hangleton - Sainsbury’s - Funded by Portslade Service 16 will offer a more flexible service linking Hangleton and Knoll Brighton & Hove with Portslade. City Council

Service 47 will provide an improved link between Hangleton and Knoll and West Hove Sainsbury’s – as well as Brighton Station, the city centre and East Brighton.

71A Whitehawk – County Hospital Timings on the morning journey will be up to two minutes earlier than Brighton & Hove 29.04.19 – Old Steine – City Centre – now and the bus will arrive at PACA at 8.13am. Buses Hove – Hangleton – Portslade Academy (‘PACA’) In the afternoon the bus will continue to leave PACA at 4.30pm, but (schooldays only) timings along the route will be up to two minutes earlier than now. 72 Whitehawk - Wilson Avenue - Morning journeys will run up to two minutes earlier from Whitehawk to Brighton & Hove 29.04.19 Woodingdean - Longhill Woodingdean, to give the buses longer to complete their journeys to the Buses School (schooldays only) school. 72A Open Market – Elm Grove – The 7.13am journey from Open Market will start from St Peter’s Church at Brighton & Hove 29.04.19 Cowley Drive – Bexhill Road 7.10am. Buses – Longhill School
