2. С. 8–13. R.V. KUZHUGET Tuvinian Institute for Exploration of Natural Resources of SB RAS (Kyzyl, Russia) RARE MINERALS ON THE TERRITORY OF TUVA (RUSSIA) Tuva is a unique geological region with numerous deposits of non-ferrous, rare and precious metals and other minerals. During the "golden age" of Russian geology, within 1950–1990, many deposits of various metals and nonmetallic raw materials were discovered in Tuva, and new mineral species previously unknown to mineralog- ical science were revealed and studied for the first time. The article briefly summariz- es information on the rare minerals found within the territory of Tuva. Keywords: mineral, mineral species, grechishchevite, kadyrelitе, karasugite, zircosul- fate, lavrentievite, Tuva. Figures 2. References 22. P. 8–13. (Commission on New Minerals, Nomenclature and Classification — CNMNC) Г.

All photos have been taken by the author during his field studies in the region. Siberia and India: Historical Cultural Affinities India and Eurasia have had close social and cultural linkages, as Buddhism spread from India to Central Asia, Mongolia, Buryatia, Tuva and far wide. Buddhism provides a direct link between India and the peoples of Siberia (Buryatia, Chita, Irkutsk, Tuva, Altai, Urals etc.) who have distinctive historico-cultural affinities with the Indian Himalayas particularly due to common traditions and Buddhist culture. Revival of Buddhism in Siberia is of great importance to India in terms of restoring and reinvigorating the lost linkages. The Eurasianism of Russia, which is a Eurasian country due to its geographical situation, brings it closer to India in historical-cultural, political and economic terms.

How to use the Atlas The Atlas has two map sections The Main Section shows the location of Russia’s intact forest landscapes. The Thematic Section shows their tree species composition in two different ways. The legend is placed at the beginning of each set of maps. If you are looking for an area near a town or village Go to the Index on page 153 and find the alphabetical list of settlements by English name. The Cyrillic name is also given along with the map page number and coordinates (latitude and longitude) where it can be found. Capitals of regions and districts (raiony) are listed along with many other settlements, but only in the vicinity of intact forest landscapes. The reader should not expect to see a city like Moscow listed. Villages that are insufficiently known or very small are not listed and appear on the map only as nameless dots. If you are looking for an administrative region Go to the Index on page 185 and find the list of administrative regions. The numbers refer to the map on the inside back cover. Having found the region on this map, the reader will know which index map to use to search further. If you are looking for the big picture Go to the overview map on page 35. This map shows all of Russia’s Intact Forest Landscapes, along with the borders and Roman numerals of the five index maps. If you are looking for a certain part of Russia Find the appropriate index map. These show the borders of the detailed maps for different parts of the country.

E-mail: [email protected]. Abstract The article aims to study the forms of marriage and family among the Tuvans of Russia, Mongolia and China from a comparative perspective. The study of the forms of marriage and family of Tuvinians is supposed to shed light upon the complex history of social relations in Tuva in the late 19th and the early 20th centuries, and identify conditions for the existence of some archaic features of marriage relationships. At the same time, the study of marriage and family relations in the period of transformation processes can identify ways of building new forms of marriage and family required for further development and improvement of the norms of marital relations among the Tuvinians. The undoubted feature of the article is that fi eld materials collected by the author on the territory of the Republic of Tuva, Mongolia and the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China have been apllied for the analysis within the study.

Potentiality is demonstrated for briquetting the coal after removing gaseous and light liquid fractions from the material.
