It annoys me that Michael Winterbottom and Sam Taylor-Wood can get real sex though at 18 because they are “artists” and because the sex is “not primarily there to titillate” (i.e., presumably in the BBFC’s view it’s not a turn on!?) whereas, even with a serious storyline, sex in porn is always R18. I want to push the boundaries and prove a sex fi lmmaker can make a fi lm that is explicit and a turn on but with some serious intent. I also think that if you’re promoting safe sex in an age when - according to the broadsheets - too many young people get their sex education from porn, there should be some special dispensation for ‘with condom’ fi lms that portray sex, in a positive way.

Who or which studio(s) do you admire in the industry? Bel Ami and Kristen Bjorn have really never been surpassed.
