The Norwegian Federation is looking for a new National Team Head Coach

The Norwegian Rowing Federation has a long tradition of elite rowing, and we consistently perform at a high international level. Over the past years, the goal of Norway’s National Team has been to win medals at every World Championships, and we have reached it. This goal continues to drive our aspirations for the future and now expands to every international regatta. As our current Head Coach will be seeking new opportunities following the Tokyo Olympics, we are now searching for a new National Team Head Coach to lead the Federation through the next few years.

The Federation’s purpose is to develop and promote Norwegian rowing in all its forms and at all skill levels, including contributing to clubs and age-specific rowers, as well as representing Norwegian rowing in international competitions. We are a community of 55 member-based, independent rowing clubs (approximately 4500 members in total) that individually organize rowing activities for juniors, U23, seniors, masters and coastal rowing. The Norwegian Rowing Federation is composed of voluntary representatives from the clubs who jointly contribute to the promotion of Norwegian rowing and who represent Norwegian rowing internationally. We exist by virtue of all our member clubs, and we organize ourselves to safeguard the interests of these members. The Norwegian Rowing Federation is accountable to its members.

Our vision is "A lifelong from beginners to masters", with you being an important contributor within the elite squad. All activities in the Federation must be based on core values such as community, health, honesty, and enjoyment of the sport, and be characterized by democracy, loyalty, equality, and voluntariness. These are values we work with every single day, and we expect you to do the same.

In the National Team context, all genders, lightweight, open class, para-athletes, established athletes and athletes in development, train together. You will have the overall coaching responsibility, as well as the responsibility for the elite rowers’ daily training, and you will spend a significant amount of your time coaching. For the past season, the elite group has consisted of 8 rowers: including both genders and weight classes, and one para-rower. At the same time, you will work with the rest of the coaching team, where you will contribute to their professional development. In addition, you will work closely with NR’s Coordinator.
