Speaker 1 2 Congress (I) Party 47 3 Haryana Janata (Lok Dal) 25 4 Haryana Janata legislature 15 5 Seats Vacant 2 Total 90 SUMMONING, SITTING AND PROPAGATION OF THE HARYANA VIDHAN SABHA The Haryana Vidhan Sabha was summoned to meet for its Eight (MARCH) session, 1980 in the Hall of the Haryana Vidhan Bhawan, Chandigarh, on the 3rd March, 1980 by an order of the Governor, dated the 8th February, 1980,and continued to meet till the 21th March, 1980, when it was adjourned sine-die. It was later prorogued by an order of the Governor, dated the 27th March, 1980. During the Session, the Sabha held 17 sittings as may be seen from the programme observed, excluding the one relating to Governor’s Address to the Assembly. (b) Resolution- “This House recommends to the State Government to take the following measures immediately for improving the economic conditions of Backward classes in the State:- (a) representations be given to the Backward Classes and Social conditions of the Backward Classes in the State:- (b) the condition of annual income of Rs 3600/- be removed in the case Backward Classes; (c) 15% seats be reserved for Backward Classes for admission in the Medical, Engineering, professional and other Educational institutions etc, and the facilities of remission of fees, liberal scholarship and loans etc be provided to the students to Backward Classes.
