Nikki Huffman begins her 13th year at the helm of the Northern Arizona diving pro- NAU WOMEN’S DIVERS gram, a squad that she has consistently led to representation at the NCAA Zone Diving UNDER HUFFMAN Championships. A four-time National Independent Conference (NIC) Diving Coach of the Year, Huffman now takes her team into its fifth year of Western Athletic Conference (WAC) NCAA Zone Diving Championships competition, a league which boasts some of the top divers in the country. Deem was named an honorable-mention Academic All-America by the CSCAA. McKenzie also earned the CSCAA honor but, in addition, was named the NAU Golden Eagle Female Scholar- Conference Titles (12 by 4 divers) Athlete of the Year in 2002-03. She also earned selection to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Women's At Large District VIII First Team, Blair Buder (2) - 2004 making her a nominee for Academic All-America consideration. Natalie Hughes (1) - 2008 Recently graduated senior Danielle Borth was the first diver to be named Academic All-WAC every year of her career. Borth earned Kate Morgan (6) - 2001, 02 (2), 03 (3) another first when The Leadership Consortium (TCL) in Phoenix named her one of their 2008 Community Leadership Award winners. Borth contributed 132 hours of community service as a senior, and was also named the female Lumberjack Service Award winner. Kristin Wright (3) - 1997 (2), 98 Prior to NAU, Huffman spent two years at Clemson, where she was voted the 1996 Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Diving Coach of the Year. With the Tigers, Huffman coached both men's Conference Divers of the Year and women's diving teams to winning seasons, with the Blair Buder - 2004, NIC women's team being ranked in the top-25 of the nation- Natalie Hughes - 2008, WAC al coaches' poll in 1996. Dave Rollins enters his second year with the Northern Arizona swimming and diving staff under 13th-year head coach Andy Johns. Rollins is no stranger to Arizona, having graduated from the University of Arizona in 2007 where he was a nine-time NCAA All-American and an NCAA National Champion. In his first year, Rollins, helped lead the Lumberjacks to a second-place finish at the WAC Championships, coaching two individual school record holders as well as members of school-record relay teams. Rollins was a member of the DAVE ROLLINS University of Arizona swimming and div- ing team from 2002-06, and a team cap- Assistant Coach tain as a senior. He earned nine All- Second Season American honors from 2003-06 and in his senior year was part of the 200 med- Arizona, 2007 ley relay team that captured the NCAA title. That relay team, on which Rollins swam the breaststroke leg, also holds the US Open record. Rollins is a U of A record-holder in the 100 breaststroke, the 200 individual medley and the 200 medley relay. From April of 2006 until he left Tucson for NAU, Rollins was an assistant coach with the Tucson Ford Dealers Aquatics Club where his athletes ranged from beginners to Olympic Trial qualifiers. Now in Flagstaff, Rollins is also the head coach of the Flagstaff Peaks Aquatic Club, and in his first year, every member of the team swam 100 percent lifetime best times. Under Rollins’ coaching, Flagstaff also saw its first ever Junior National qualifier. Rollins is a native of Brockton, Mass., and South Burlington, Vt., until the summer of 1997 when his family moved to Tucson. He graduated from The University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies in May, 2007.
