recent years. With more than 600 production lines in 14 countries around the world, SCHOTT manufactures over seven billion syringes, vials, ampoules, cartridges, and special products for the pharmaceutical industry each year. Approximately 600 employees work at the plant in St. Gallen. Vials, cartridges and pre-fillable syringes are the main products produced here.

SCHOTT is fully committed to the highest standards for quality. For instance, the company even manufactures its own preliminary product for use in manufacturing pharmaceutical packaging. the-art production technologies to ensure the high quality of its packaging. This includes the inspection system AIS (Automated Inspection System) that the company developed on its own. This highly sensitive system detects even the slightest of defects, such as scratches on the surfaces of glasses, in a highly reliable manner. It sorts out defective packaging and even automatically identifies specific defects with great accuracy. This prevents defects that could cause glass breakage during the subsequent filling process at the pharmaceutical companies.
